mcj, how many times has Bushing said he's agianst piracy? Do you really think he's gonna let a softmod out in the wild? No. He's not. Unless Nintendo patches ALL homebrew in 3.4, I very highly doubt we'll see Bushings Softmod.

I know what he has said. But everyone says he wants a job with Nintendo, or wants to cut a deal with them. Again the bottom line is you have no idea what his intentions are. And the more people speculate, the more it gets repeated, and then more of the kids think it is truth. Which in turn because flame wars and arguments like the last two threads that were shut down.

So it's either someone claiming Nintendo is not our friend so we should screw them over by being able to play free games, or it's now the Above Top Secret forums and Bushing is part of the Illuminati (aka the Inner Circle of Wii hackers that keep everything to themselves).

Why don't we just forget about Bushing and find our own way of doing what we want? Why should we wait around on people to release something that they never will. We should stop relying on other people to do things for us, and figure out our own way of doing things. Arguing over his intentions isn't going to solve anything, so forget about it. Either try to figure out something to do yourselves, or just stop arguing and wait for someone you can piggyback on and hold your hand through everything.

i just remembered, WiiWare and VC is hacked, and losing money due to TP hack and HBC (indirectly). i dont think that they will "play nice" and let homebrew live as allowing any joe blow to run their own code, will always always leave methods of attack open for exploit. also not that i condone piracy, which i do

, i think a softmod/backuploader would be a good thing for the homebrew scene, it will attract more coders to get wii's, or to start developing homebrew. also, Nintendo will probably tell bushing that they will leave homebrew alone, and patch it anyways, its not like he can get it in wriing, as demanding that would be blackmail. and i think that is more illegal than copying game dvds

I say release the damn thing, who cares, apparently not nintendo, they just want your money, once they get whatever this guy Bushing has, they are going to permanently patch EVERYTHING . No Homebrew no nothing....and then all he will be able to tell the Wii Homebrew scene is "They said they wouldnt patch everything" something of that sort. Nintendo dont want any unsigned, user created code running illegally on their system(s) period.

Does it REALLY matter if they try to patch it? Hackers who still use 3.2 could come up with a way to downgrade (hell I think someone already has), and we could keep running homebrew until a workaround is found, why worry what they might do?

It'd be more important to actually find out these exploits and such than worrying about the consequences.
