This is something of a nitpick, but is there anyway we could receive notifications/alerts for when one of our posts are deleted? Sometimes I'll head back online and see that my post/like count is lowered, but without the alert, I have no idea why that is. If I made some sort of mistake, I have no way of knowing, and then have no way of avoiding it in the future.

Thanks.

Because having over 9000 likes is just too mainstream, you always need check to see if you got more.

In all seriousness, it really isn't about likes/post count/whatever. That stuff's fun, sure, but unimportant in the grand scheme of things.

Knowing why your posts have been deleted, however, is kind of essential. If you made some sort of mistake/error/what have you, it's worth knowing what it was so you can avoid making the same mistake in the future. Since mods explain why they delete the posts, it doesn't even demand any extra work, just a link to the deleted post.

I was trying to be funny, but my joke didn't turn out as I had hoped. XD
You're right though, it would definitely help members understand why they shouldn't post something.

I am against this feature! Good members never get their posts deleted, so why is it of use?

Gahars here is a great member in my opinion. He posts informative articles, puns (some good and some not so good), and he's active in the community, yet he gets his posts deleted.

He is? Indeed he posts articles in a good form, I can agree with that, he is active(on a very annoying way, every post get's a pun ;-;, I love that he does KYT though) but I understand why his posts get deleted. He doesn't add anything sometimes.

So do you consider him a good member with all of those pros or do you consider him a bad member?

This is a forum on the Internet. 99% of posts don't add anything all the time.

It was just an example of bad posts, people who accidentally post twice or more yeah, it can happen, the server or internet can derp. It also happened to me, they don't do it intentionally.

I still think this feature is not needed, members can contact the stuff if they want to know if their posts are deleted and why.

Gahars, just ask the staff if they can give some crazy amount of posts, you never have to worry again then =_=

Stop posting shit and your posts wont get deleted in the first place.
That's subjective though.

Not all deleted posts are 'bad'. Sometimes when a thread goes off topic we have to cull huge swathes of posts to get the thread back on track. And how about times when your internet goes all screwy and you accidentally post four times?
Yeah, triple posts seem to be really common lately.

As others have mentioned, posts aren't always deleted because they're from bad users. It could be because it's a response to a trashed post, or a duplicate, or any number of other factors.

It'd be like saying that since good members never have warns, there's no point in having an Amnesty Thread. Sometimes people just make mistakes.

Bad members can always become good members (or at least, better ones). If they don't know exactly what they're doing wrong, however, that can be harder to manage.

although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Brb
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament
