EDIT: AND it wasn't even Norm's fault; APP code came directly from Team Acekard according to IRC which had caused the problem by erasing the bootloader and only affects older cards.

Does AKAIO work on the R4 Ultra?
A single 1-off build of AKAIO v1.8.1 was compiled by Normmatt for the R4 Ultra by request of Team Acekard (the developers of the R4 Ultra). This is currently the only build adapted to work on the R4 Ultra, future releases will not work without much manipulation by Normmatt. Support for the R4 Ultra has not been added into AKAIO and is not planned for the future.

Seems as though there is a bug, the AAP code that was from Acekard themselves is very large and managed to erase the bootloader (or something very close to that). That's the brick that the guy on the AKAIO forums has received, and Normmatt is working on a fix now I believe. Don't know how long it will take, mind.

Don't be a dick. AKAIO has always been an awesome firmware, just be glad you're not paying for it. What Normatt does he does on his own time
& out of his own pocket, so kindly stfu.

Maybe they'll go back to public or semi public betas again to prevent this from happening at large. They could put the it might brick your acekard warning on the public beta so only people who have spares will test it.

For those just a arriving on the scene and do not wish to read the entire thread:

AKAIO 1.8.2 was released to the public this morning as a New Years present from Team AKAIO. However shortly after, a user with an old AK2 .1 had reported that the new AKAIO revision had banner bricked his AK. This was caused by the new AAP overwriting the bootloader due to the fact that space allotted for AAP overlapped with huge bootloader. The new AAP code had not come from Normmatt, it had come from Team Acekard. Normmatt has notified Team Acekard and hopefully they will get back to him with a fix. However, he has stated that he can fiddle with the AAP code and should reach a fix within an hour himself BUT DO NOT assume that if you come back in an hour, things will be swell. No one knows the release time exactly but you guys have waited till now, you can wait a little more.

Akaio has always been great but the quality of the Acekard is suspect. It's the only slot 1 card I've ever heard can get bricked. Then some of them need the paper fix. I suppose you can't complain for the money

Akaio Ultra > Akaio Classic

R4 Ultra is much cheaper. That's the joke.
