These are some quotes from somewhat up-to-date DSTT users:

Just wanted to say thanks to you Retro for all your efforts, if it wasn't for you many of the games would still not be working on the kids DSTT, just wanted to let you know that you've helped many people as i had nearly a hundred games pinched (originals) but fortunately had made a backup so was able to get them working with your firmware....cheers bud!!

Here's to hoping he doesn't quit. He's keeping my DS alive

The common factor with all of these is that it isn't the DSTT that they are happy for.

There are various other quotes that could be used of course, but the general consensus is that without RGF, the DSTT was screwed along with various clones...similarly with the original R4, though the R4 has some slight perk that there are two different people working on two different updates (YWG with WoodR4 & RGF with his library updates), so both would have to quit before the R4 goes back to it's state of death.

Yeah I don't see myself getting another card until I upgrade my DS in the future. No idea when that will be.

Thanks for the info though. I don't mind using the updates for the DSTT. It will be fine.

If my AK2 was working, this wouldn't be an issue though. Do you think it's possible that I have a faulty one? I don't get it because I have used it before.

you never answered the questions i asked so i'm unsure if your acekard can be fixed. you should know that all acekard products have a 1 yr warranty. drop an email to [email protected] and tell them your situation, describe everything you did to debug it, etc. they should offer you a replacement if you are within the warranty period.

I'm sorry another world. I must have missed them. I will answer them now. Sorry about that.

It's a AK2. (not i)

The AK logo shows up in the slot1 box when I boot up my DS. (I have it on Manual, not Auto)

A couple of things happen depending on what I have on my microSD card (4GB, formatted with the Panasonic thing)

If I'm using the official AK2 software (not AKAIO) then the ak2 menu comes up but it just stays "stuck" on loading the microSD contents. I can see the microSD graphic in the corner flashing but it never resolved.

If I use AKAIO, it never loads at all. Just a black screen.

since the acekard icon shows up it means your bootloader is fine. it sounds like the firmware is attempting to load, as you are past the initial "loading..." screen. you are 100% sure that the microsd card is working, as in you have tested it out on a different flash kit?

you said its an ak2, so i'm assuming its the old one that does not say "2.1" on the sticker? the ak2 had a FAT error problem that usually started out acting like contact issues and eventually the cart just says "FAT ERROR" and no longer works. this was fixed in the 2.1 revision.

you can try to reseat your microsd card by popping it up/down/up/down/up/down a few times. you can also try cleaning the acekard contacts, although i do not think that is the problem. i'm pretty sure its the microsd card, microsd slot, or a contact issue between the two.

let me know if you have the ak2 with the window in the shell and the chip sticking out under the sticker or if you have the 2.1. if its the 2.1 tell me the color of the PCB just above the contacts (black or green).
