Activision plan to release more remasters in 2018
In an annual investor's report put out by Activision, the company has announced that after the success of remastered games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered and the Crash N. Sane Trilogy, they plan on releasing more remasters throughout the current year. This information reignites the rampant rumors that have been going around the past few months regarding a Modern Warfare 2 remaster and a Spyro trilogy remake. It also follows the recent Tweet from Tony Hawk, regarding him talking about his split from Activision, and his wish for remasters of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series. The report doesn't detail what Activision has in mind specifically, only noting that they plan to remaster some of their intellectual properties.
We expect to release World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth and our latest Call of Duty game in the second half of 2018. In addition, we expect to deliver ongoing content for our various franchises, including expansion packs for Hearthstone and Destiny 2 , in-game events for Overwatch , and map packs for Call of Duty: WWII , as well as releases of remastered versions of titles from our library of IP. We also expect to release at least two new mobile titles during 2018, including a social casino game from King.
