Well I'm sure there are a few threads like this but I felt like asking my self.

If I use an AceKard V2i can it brick my DSi?

I read somewhere that it can because of firmware updates.

Hopefully I won't be flamed and get called a noob :3

Any help is appreciated :]

Thanks for the reply :3

I dont mind if the AceKard Breaks, afterall it is only like $20 isn't it?

Also, if this does happen, will I never be able to use another AceKard or any other Flash Cart?

Also where should I buy an AceKard i?

Thanks :3

I didnt mean that your AK2i will break, I meant it wouldnt be usable because nintendo was blocking it. The cartridge itself would be working, but the DSi's security would stop it from being run. Sorry for the poor word choice.

hopefully, even if nintendo releases updates, the acekard team or AKAIO will come out with a patch so that your acekard can continue working. Other flash carts may be rendered useless as well, but some may figure a work-around sooner than others.

If you're in europe...I don't know

Try: www.dealextreme.com

Cheap and has free shipping.

They just added a language fix for Europeans, so it looks like they may be able to fix the cart if Nintendo blocks it. The Supercard DSONEi has a USB device that can fix the cart if Nintendo blocks it also.

noob...

flame...flame....flame...

But it doesn't brick your DSi, since it doesn't even have access to the DSi features.
But you already knew that just wanted to call you a noob

couldn't some1 come up w/ somethin that could be run on the DSi to stop this and all updates, i mean kinda like flash me did with ds/dslite, but it would have to be used in DSi version

Is The SuperCard DSONEi any good?

plus if they can stop Nintendo blocking it then surely the AceKard can?

ALL flash carts with the DSi can be stopped if continual Firmware updates are released and thus it will take the teams to figure out how to redo the OS for the Carts, and if you disconnect wireless you could stop it forcing updates. But other than that don't worryabout it, and choice of Cart is all down to preference.

Oh Kay, thanks for the info :3

But, do I have to do firmware updates if I go online? like into the Shop or online on games?

You should only use dealextreme if time is not a factor for you.

Time doesn't matter to me :3

It will probably take a week to ship it the the UK,

I'm just not sure on which Flash Cart to get now.

Can all Flash Carts get a way around Nintendo Firmware updates, or is it just certain cards?

and when I go into the DSi shop, do I have to do a firmware update?

like you said~! is just $20, why not get SCDSONEi as your alternative! i got mine just because of the usb firmware writter
smile.gif

is SCDSONEi any good? well it packs with features that ak2i doesn't have
RTS
multisaver
textviewer
real time on off cheats

team support?
i will rate it the 2nd or 3rd behind AKAIO

cons?
the gui is a little slow and a little glitchy on the upper screen when it boots into the menu (last for a second or two)
cheat engine sucks

Anyway, ak2i + AKAIO is still the best of all and is my first choice

Okay Thanks :]

I will most probably buy an AceKard v2i, although from some posts I've seen on here there have been a lot of problenms with them, but oh well, AceKard is only $14 from DealExtreme

is DSonei the only Flash Cart that can have firmware updates?

because AceKard seems to have a lot more umm support?

By that I mean, they have a website with all the stuff needed and skins ect..

I haven't found the DSonei website (maybe just me being a noob)

Anyway thanks for the info, and sorry I've been asking so many questions, just been trying to get my head around all the new flash carts :3

Normally you will be required to update to access online features, its a sneaky way of doing it, and yeah the AK2i is a smashing card, and there are some good UK online stores which aren't much dearer and you receive it next day normally, first class.
