Hi all,

My niece's Acekard is no longer being recognised by her DS Lite. The DSL says there is no DS card inserted. If I use the Acekard with my daughter's DS Lite, it is recognised but I get a "Dorasu" game title in (complete with what looks like a red bow icon).

Googling suggests this means the firmware for the Acekard is for DSi (or early 3DS) but I don't understand (a) how my niece has updated it, in fact I know she hasn't. [ I also copied over the akaio files from my daughter's Acekard and it's still not recognised ] and (b) how my daughter's DSL would recognise it ?

Trying my daughter's Acekard in my neice's DSL also gives "no DS card inserted" so I am beginning to think the problem is with the DSL.

Anyone got any ideas ?

Regards,

The Acekard's firmware was probably pre-updated when you got it. The Dorasu icon means it was updated to work on a DSi/3DS. It will ALWAYS work on any DS lite, so you shouldn't need to worry about any updates unless you have plans of getting anything DS newer than the lite (DSi, DSi XL, 3DS). Your issues with it not working appear to be contact issues, as frogboy had pointed out. Visit the thread he linked to and that should solve your problem.

I can sort of understand it being a contact issue ... except for the fact that the DS has been recognising the card for months up until now.
