It could be a contact issue where the cart shifts after booting. Just throwing out ideas. Best I can suggest is check the bootstrap version (not sure how to besides running the updater again) and check that is really was updated.

It was definitely updated because I had Danny Phantom as my bootstrap before this.

I used the bugged version on my HW:81 AK and it works on my 3DS! Sweet!

HW:81 was fine with the bugged update. Only HW:44 had issues with it.

Ok just to let you know that the new patch doesn't work on my HW:44 either.

I tried the DSL version, I ran the update file, then the system told me to eject/reinsert the card, then press B, which I did. Then I got "This card cannot be updated " message.
Maybe I should try the Dsi version..?

I think you should only use the version that corresponds with your hardware.

Eg;

ak2ifw_update_3ds_v1_DSi = DSi, DSi XL
ak2ifw_update_3ds_v1_DSL - DS Phat, DSL

No I'm on a DSL, but the previous DSi patch was working on DSL so...
Edit: Dsi version not working either, actually the DSL version asks for eject/insert when the DSi version does not. Maybe a hardware difference between Dsi and DSL...

Not true.
The DSL version ONLY works on the DS/DSlite, but the DSi works on DS/DSlite/DSi/DSiXL

The only difference between the two versions is, DSl version asks you to swap your card first. This allows for 'unbricking' and multiple updates. The DSi cannot swap cards without returning to the menu, so it must flash the device it was run from.

What you said is not what Rydian said...
See above as to why.

That's confirmed no more guessing, here is a word from the devs:

The Oldest AK2i Can't Update Temporarily

The first type of AK2i, which has a little window in the shell of back, can't update to support 3DS temporarily. The HWID of this type of AK2i is "44". We need do more test. Please be patient. We're sorry for the inconvenience.

Damn :/

I used the DSL version on my DSL and my HWID is 8181.

However, when the update was finished I tried it in my 3DS it had DOASU as the game and when I booted it, it said something along the lines of "Blah blah blah error occurred resort to manual"
When trying it in my DSL, DORASU is the game and it boots to a white screen. I tried removing the firmware files and putting them back on with no luck.

Suggestion pl0xorz?

Try applying the update again?

I would if my AK could boot up

Edit: Well, backed up data, formatted, reinstalled AKAIO. STILL A WHITE SCREEN. There's even a white screen when there's no microSD in, instead of the usual "Loading..."

Guess I'm just out of an AceKard... Did anyone else with a HWID of 8181 have something like this happen?

Good thing I kept my trusty DSi.

I updated my card just as it said it would go, no worries. It was 8181 and on a DSPhat. It shows the Japanese game icon when first booting, and then loads normally. I don't have my 3ds yet, so I can't test if it's working, but I'd assume it would.

EDIT: Fully working on my 3ds.
