Just as the title says. Credits go to the devs in this github post, but don't post there asking for support or they might get pissy. Use at your own risk, I offer no support as I did not develop this, I only helped test it with successful results.

You'll need the .firm in THIS ZIP. Place it inside a folder called "ntrboot" on the SD card that will go inside your Ace3DS Plus.
You'll need this patched version of ntrboot_flasher.nds
Launch the patched boot flaster after opening your Ace3ds Cart on your 3ds
Choose Ace3ds Plus
Make a backup if you want. It'll be located in the ntrboot folder on your sd card inside the ace3ds (You'll need this if you want to use it for NDS games again)
Choose inject flash
If successful you should be able to now use your Ace3DS plus for NTRboot

Great, it worked on mt card, i had an mt card with spongbob icon has wood firmare 1.62 and ace3dsplus hardware on it.
I tried these files on it and it worked on old 3ds europe region with 11.5 firmware on it and follow 3ds guide for ntrboot single system and follow the steps from installing boot9strap.
successfully installed boot9strap.

Managed to take a backup of the firm but could not flash ntrboot. Here is the log. I got a "flash failed" error and the flasher crashed. Using ace3ds plus.

https://github.com/ntrteam/flashcart_core/files/1598966/ntrboot.log

The flashcart cannot be detected by any 3ds now. Tested on o3ds with cfw 11.6 and n3ds on stock 11.6. The n3ds does not ntrboot from the failed flash flashcart.

Edit: Trying to restore with ntrboot_flasher compiled in the github thread says "your flashcart is not supported" when selecting Ace3ds plus.

I used this as part of a Luma3DS installation. When the flasher prompted me, I dumped the card before flashing it. How do I get the ACE3DS back into the mode where I can play .nds games again?

Did you make a backup before the ntrboot flash? If so, play back your own backup with the ntrboot-firm flasher.
If you no longer have backup, you are also welcome to use my beta ntrboot-flasher and Ace3DS Plus backup.

I have my backup on my MicroSD, I just don't know what to do with it. How do I use the flasher you sent me?

1.) add the ntrboot flasher to your luma payloads
(sd: // luma / payloads / ntrboot_flasher (beta) .firm)

2.) add your backup file (backup.bin) to the odner ntrboot
(Sd: //ntrboot/backup.bin)

3.) Start your Luma3DS payload and select ntrboot_flasher (beta)
(Keep the start button + power button and select payload)

4.) Insert Ace3DS (Plus) flashcard with MicroSD card into the 3DS

5.) Select Flashcard Ace3DS Plus on your 3DS and select Restore Flash

6.) The flash card is now restored from the backup.

Thank you so much this worked, I can play my games now! Btw, I know this is over the top, but is it possible to edit my backup so I change change what the Ace3DS looks like (Change the name and icon of the cart.)

did you do anything special with Luma or CFW? It won't show up for me at all, neither on Luma or non-CFW N3DS, both running 11.7.

Did you flash your Ace3DS+ into NTR mode? If not, have you downloaded the latest firmware and put it on the Ace3DS+'s micro SD?

No.

the card pretends to be a legit game to be accepted. You need a new firmware that pretends to be a different legit game, and good luck actually getting that.
