I've done that very successfull
Be carefull on the results screen of ARC (You could miss the language or location settings there. (I've missed that for example)

I have a Kor Wii with Backup Loader, most likely imported from China - NOT HARD MODED / NO CHIP. I can enter the Backup launcher and play games very well. However, I am unable to enter the Mii channel. As soon as I try to enter Mii, I get a Black screen with only 2 characters "i" and "." showing somehwere in the middle of the screen. Because of this I am unable to save my levels in games.

Also when I try to enter Wii Settings page I just get a white screen with a "." on first line and ".." on second line.

I contacted the seller and he told me that soft modded Wiis do not allow entry into these pages. I am certain that this is not true.

Can some one please help me activate the Mii and Settings page?

1. Is it possible to get it working while it is still Korean?
2. Is it possible to make it US or EU version with no mod chip? I already have HBC running.

EDIT: Since the settings page is inaccesible. Please suggest a strictly offline way to update.

if you use anyregion changer mod 05 to chang your wii,you can use gc pad to hold Y ,then turn on your wii ,you will enter recovery mod .zelda disc can run

you use channel file manager

enter "wii nand " then select "System channels " ,delete mii channel.

use updater to updater your channel

ios50,ios60 ios61 mii photo shop channel.

I was wondering if there is a way for me to do an entirely offline update to US from KOR on a non-hard-moded system. If so could you lay down the steps in a way similar to how there are steps for upgrading/downgrading Wii offline in this post. My Korean Wii is already showing most things in Eng, including the start-up screen and games. On one of the other forums it was suggested that I should either do a proper Korean update or a proper US update-using ARC. The main issue remains that the settings page is inaccessible and hence I do not have internet on the console.

Also the seller is insistent that on soft modded Wiis the Mii page will not be accessible.

EDIT: I tried JOKERz method of deleteing the extra HXXK files. Success with Mii and Photo channels. Yippy!

Now I just need to get my settings page working. This still remains inaccessible. One note, while everything else is in english, when I press the Home button everything is in Korean. Does it mean the update to US was not complete by the seller. Since, I cannot enter settings page I am not sure what firmware I am currently on.
1. Any other way to know this?
2. Can I do a US update as suggested in this post? Can it cause a brick?

13. You'll notice your Wii is semi-bricked... you can't enter the menus!
14. Run AnyRegionChanger_local.rar
-Select "Install System Menu 3.2"
-accept with "Yes"
-PatchMii will start automatically downloading IOS35 and the SystemMenu
--> this will take some time do not cancel!
15. Reboot your Wii - its software now is 100% US!

I have a question on the last few steps. Like I pointed above I don't have Internet and also my Wii is softmoded. I have done all the steps till the 13. Can I simply run step 14 without Internet and modchip, will it update the system? Meaning are all the required IOSs already on SD card if I have downloaded the ARC offline version.

Thanks kavid. I was just about to post when I saw your reply. I have implemented your steps 11-15 from using ARC 1.1b to ARC offline version from your original post. The video goes a long way to explain. I have succeeded in unbricking my Wii.

I have tried hard to get the NTSC u disc of mario kart and not able to . the ones i download do not have the update or are pal do u know where i can download it from . or could some one host it on rapidshare please . i have downloaded 3 times alredy .

Also does anyone know which update is on the mario kart disc is it 3.1U v 3?

Well, sure it didnt work.

You have to turn your Wii on and then release the power button and press and hold reset until preloader comes up.

But IDK if it is still there as you´ve installed a systemmenu(which erases preloader...)
