sorry ive looked and looked and i know its a stupid question.

A mate has a psp1000 but he's updated to 6.10. chickHEN therefore wont work, will a pandora battery?

Yes it will work with pandora.
All PSP 1000 models can be hacked using pandora no mather what firmware they are on.
