The first teaser for the upcoming Minecraft movie, creatively titled A Minecraft Movie has released.

Starring Jack Black as Steve and an expanded cast that includes Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks and Sebastian Eugene Hansen, A Minecraft Movie is slated for release April 4 2025 and is being directed by Jared Hess of Nacho Libre and Napoleon Dynamite fame. The plot revolves around four misfits who are pulled into Minecraft's Overworld where they must learn to survive and protect it from dangers to eventually return home.

Welcome to the world of Minecraft, where creativity doesn't just help you craft, it's essential to one's survival! Four misfits—Garrett "The Garbage Man" Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Myers) and Dawn (Brooks)—find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get back home, they'll have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like Piglins and Zombies, too) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve (Black). Together, their adventure will challenge all five to be bold and to reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative…the very skills they need to thrive back in the real world.

That is one of the worst things I've ever seen. How can something like this get greenlit and no one at the studio stops and goes "Maybe a movie based on the best selling video game of all time shouldn't look like crap"? Movies have fallen off so far, it's depressing.

Honesty would it be so hard for you know have the human characters look like they actually belong in Minecraft?

I totally see fan edits that temove the humans being thing for this movie.

Fortnite could actually work as a Groundhog Day type plot, but I checked the game synopsis thing and there's a whole bunch of "lore" and apparently some storyline and a whole bunch of events they introduced so they could keep things "fresh" and keep selling season passes, and I just know the fans would lose their shit if the movie didn't include all of it so a simple yet serviceable Groundhog Day plot ain't happening.
