The first teaser for the upcoming Minecraft movie, creatively titled A Minecraft Movie has released.

Starring Jack Black as Steve and an expanded cast that includes Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks and Sebastian Eugene Hansen, A Minecraft Movie is slated for release April 4 2025 and is being directed by Jared Hess of Nacho Libre and Napoleon Dynamite fame. The plot revolves around four misfits who are pulled into Minecraft's Overworld where they must learn to survive and protect it from dangers to eventually return home.

Welcome to the world of Minecraft, where creativity doesn't just help you craft, it's essential to one's survival! Four misfits—Garrett "The Garbage Man" Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Myers) and Dawn (Brooks)—find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get back home, they'll have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like Piglins and Zombies, too) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve (Black). Together, their adventure will challenge all five to be bold and to reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative…the very skills they need to thrive back in the real world.

A couple of us genuinley enjoyed it, but for the most part any time anything happen we would go "THIS IS PEAK CINEMA" or we would point at the screen and go "THAT'S IT! THAT'S THE THING FROM THE GAME!", and of course we got up and cheered as loud as possible at the famous chicken jockey scene.
What really got me though is that one of us had already seen the film the previous night with a different group, and somehow memorized most of the movie and spoke along with it

What was the energy of that group? Were they genuinely enjoying the movie or poking fun at it?
It's all because of a retarded TikTok trend that led to consequences, such as police getting involved and banning unattended children from entering the theater. What they're doing is vandalizing cinemas by throwing popcorn, food, and causing a ruckus for everyone watching the movie, all because of the quote "chicken jockey" being said. This is our generation now. I do feel bad for the staff having to clean up the mess.

Not sure why this is a reply to a post about my specific group. We were respectful and didn't leave a mess.
Love how people on the modern internet demand that you explain yourself over everything

yeah, kids are not stupids!
Parents are the main responsibility with how they raise them.

I thought it was gonna be animated but there are real humans. It doesn't even look like Minecraft and the humans look so out of place in the CGI world.
Sheep look cursed AF, I like the llama though.
That being said, it has Jack Black so I will give it a chance.
At least they did adjust the CGI in the final to make the animals less creepy. Much like to what they did with the Sonic movie.

Fuck, that's why I'm never making my genetic vessels, ever. Nevermind annoying to everyone else, esp on planes, but EXPENSIVE ass hobbies too and never turn out how you'd want em to. Animals make for superior companions and plenty live very, very long.

Exactly that with everything going on, it's difficult to focus on anything in peace (esp anywhere at any place).

I didn't saw this post on my last reply for some reason.

Sounds like you guys had fun! Unfortunately, I don't think I have a group that would be good to specifically watch minecraft with. Or maybe I do? I'd love to shitpost at it like you guys did.

Also unfortunately, I promise gbatemp last year that I'd watch this film so I gotta do it either way >.<
Not going to the cinema tho, I'm happy to wait for that movie to come out on torrent sites

Well there's already a CAM rip and a workprint out in the wild, but both copies look like total dogshit, I'd much rather wait for a HD release.
