I apologize as I know new threads clutter the forum, but I have a few questions on Gateway 3DS that I can't find answers to anywhere else. I have a Gateway card coming soon for my 3DS XL with 6.0 firmware on it. Any answers are greatly appreciated.

1) I have my 3DS XL already. It is fresh and has had nothing installed or played on it yet. I am wanting to downgrade to 4.5 FW. I know that it is possible to dump a game without the Gateway card itself, but I don't know if anything else is possible. Is it possible that I could go ahead and downgrade the console while I wait for the card to come in? If so, are there any drawbacks to downgrading before I get the card?
Note: I still haven't linked an NNID or connected the 3DS XL to the internet.

2) I have a 2DS with an NNID I'd like to use on the 3DS XL if possible. The question here is, is it possible for me to transfer my current NNID to the 3DS XL and still be able to setup EmuNAND and everything correctly?

3) As for online play, could someone point me in the direction of some instructions on what I'll need to do to prepare my games for online play? I've read into private headers and such with guides for Sky3DS, but I'm not exactly sure what I need to do for Gateway 3DS.

Thanks in advance!

downgrading before you get the card? no, no real drawbacks, if you want to downgrade, no reason to wait
yes you can set up emunand, then you can transfer your old 2ds to that emunand
i'll let someone else answer about using gw online, you can search more if you want. sorry, there is only so many times you can help people with something, it gets boring (nothing personal!)

1) Yes i believe you can as you don't go into emunand. There shouldn't be any drawbacks.
2) Yes But first you need to update emunand and do a system transfer

3) You backup your game and then using Gateway Rom patcher you rip the Header of the rom and iject the header to a diffrent game. Alternativly you can use CIAs but that up to you

Thank you both. I just retrieved the Gateway Rom Patcher (1.1), so I'll go ahead and start working with that.

While the thread is still active, I have one other question regarding headers.

Say I dumped my SSB for its header. I've read previously that some games wouldn't work with some other game's headers. What exactly would keep a game from working with my SSB header?

ok :) gw rom patches will automatically fix the header to what ever game you give it.
a header can be made to work for any game, so don't worry. (the header has the size of the game, but it can easily be changed, and it's automatic so don't worry)

the only thing you have to worry about is the chip manufacturer - gw rom patcher cannot guess this (or does not) -- so if the game does not work online and you gave it a header and the rom is named .3dz, change the chip manufacturer until it works :)

@Xdqwerty you can use a "spawner" function on any object.

Or when your player dies, you can say in code, if enemy exists, do nothing, but if enemy does not exist, then create enemy at certain spot. (This would be a pain tho for lots of emeies)
