There's no way to hack your console on 8.0 right now (unless I missed it) if you want to update go ahead but there's no guarantee an exploit will be out soon. You'll have to wait until one of the CFWs like Atmosphere etc... updates to 8.0 support.

I mean, it's not even fully my Switch either, both my brother and I paid half. I wouldn't want to mod it without his knowing.
    If it ever does..

I wasn't intending to quote you when I said that I was talking to another poster.

Oh, but still, I mean, it's not entirely my Switch to do as I please, it would be inconsiderate to do so without my brother/co-owner knowing about modding.

As long as your console is unpatched you can manually downgrade, if you so desire

My unpatched console is currently completely unhacked. There is otherwise no long-term harm in updating to 8.0.0, then?

    Hell
You’ll burn a fuse, which will prevent you from ever using anything below 8.0.0, but besides that, nah

According to this thread, the fuse count stays the same though. Unless I misinterpreted it.

Probably going to be required for the VR updates.

Man, I'd be genuinely worried about exploits working on 8.x.x if I planned to actually mod my Switch.

I'm waiting for 8.0 offline version so I can test if updating my emuNAND works with 8.0 or not.

For those of us who disabled auto-update in system settings but still go online in atmosphere and therefore are getting a super nag to update every time we try to launch anything now -- change your auto wifi to 90DNS or use airplane mode and then ChoiDuJour to jump down and back up a firmware level. Reboot for no more nag as long as you stay on 90DNS or airplane mode.

Now the patient wait for 8.0 Atmosphere...
