Deja Vu will let you run CFW by loading a website in the browser on <=7.0.1. It works on both FG patched and unpatched system

But don't you need something set up in order to use the browser? It's not so cut and dry with Switch homebrew. Until there is permanent softmod solutions, it sounds like a hassle coupled with a burden IMO

Which requires browser access, which needs more steps to access, no?

If memory serves, instead of showing your system version in settings it'll say something like "Your system is ready to update" if you have it downloaded.
Looks like I’m safe then, thank you!

boot maintence mode
Nope. That means disabling autorcm.

I had to do that before updating to 7, and it was a terrifying experience. I was super anxious that I’d screw it up and boot normally, burning my fuses.

It looks like the update hadn’t downloaded yet, so I’m safe. I definitely want to avoid messing with Maintenance Mode unless absolutely necessary.

Thanks for replying all the same :)

Just setup a DNS that automatically sends you to a website that does the shit :P. Permanent untethered colboot hax won’t ever happen

But how do you even get on the browser. That's what I'm finding out, I can't just turn on my switch and have it automatically boot up a browser that isn't accessible from the main menu.

Go into the settings and connect to your wifi network with a DNS. And again, CFW that automatically starts when you boot the system is 100% impossible on 4.0+

Yeeeeeeeah, since I'm not on 4, I've officially given up ever modding my Switch.
Why? Because you don't wanna use a jig/inject a payload?

Atmosphere can reboot directly back into CFW after a crash, as well as on-demand. I haven't needed a jig or dongle in weeks.

Perfect had my switch since the old days before june 15 and retro back when gameboy first became a possibility.....anyways im glad thank you my friend

I updated my main console to 8.0.0. Guess I'll lose the ability to hack it, but w/e.

Is my non-patched launch console safe to update to this patch if I ever want to hack it in the future? I assume 8.0.0 affects nothing on unpatched consoles, right?

I wouldn't upgrade your non-patched Switch to 8.0. While it's likely an exploit is coming you never know. PS3 took years after a certain firmware I mean like 5 years to get a new hack. Patience is key.

Yeah I'm probably gonna skip it cause of that it's ridiculous like 15 gb I don't have the sd card space. I'd probably only play it for like 5 minutes anyway.

It's already exploitable with the joy-con rail and RCM and all that, so 8.0 messes with currently hackable consoles too?
