i just got a 4gb sdhc card, had my doughts about it cuz i hear bad things about the sdhc went for it any ways was only 10 bucks. i had a 64mb sd card before was way to small. this card responds in my computer fine. when i put it in the wii it shows up on the menu that a sd card is inserted but when i go to sd menu it says "The device inserted in the SD Card Slot cannot be used." i also have a 8gb sdhc card and it works fine. (but its used for my digital camera and cant be in the wii)
wiiflow does not reconize it either. it works in the homebrew channel but nothing else. any help will be greatly appreciated

You could try backing up the card formatting it again and copying the data back

Might work

Honestly I'd recommend something like this just $15 more than a mechanical drive https://a.co/d/dOT73f5
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@K3Nv3, Is it the super slim, original slim, or phat?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
No real advantage of using ssd in PS3/X360, they use old Sata1/2 interface. Maybe get little read speed dif but hardly noticeable.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
    Slim
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
No moving parts the better with hardware ssd has longer chance of life
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
With a much bigger price tag
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
    $15 isn't a huge price difference
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@K3Nv3, Yup, I was thinking of that because the super slims cannot have custom firmware installed, you can only do PS3HEN which is like a soft-mod of sorts but not permanent.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
1tb ssd is like$50 all across the board
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
shit, compare 1tb ssd to a 1tb sata hd, more than $15 dif
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
    Still $50 for a 1tb isn't a huge price tag difference
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Ok you do you.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BigOnYa, 1TB SSDs don't cost all that much nowadays, you should be good to go with one. Nothing too abysmal like 16TB as you're going to be using a small portion of that.

  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
    I'm buying a 4tb m.2 eventually that's around 250 that's when it gets costly
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
@SylverReZ Yea i know, was just trying to show him a $32 1tb deal.

  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Seen they're rolling out122TB ssds that's going to be like $800+ probably
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Imagine fitting an entire petabyte of storage into a PS3. Turn it into a flux supercomputer lol.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Bet that'll require some partitioning if the PS3 cannot accept any hard disk beyond that size.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
At the time ps3 was considered top of the line specs so I could see a massive link up of them
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @BigOnYa, I can see that. :)
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    @SylverReZ, Yea 1.5tb max on PS3
