Hardware 3DS won't update.

My 3ds is not updating. Any time I try, I get an error message that says "An error has occurred. Unable to update." I've already tried disconnecting/reconnecting my wifi, connecting to different wifi, and booting in safe mode. I'm trying to do this to get Streetpass Mii Plaza back after I deleted it. Anyone got any ideas on to how to fix this?

Stock I think? It is hacked but I've mostly just installed apps and cosmetic stuff. Sorry if that's a bad answer, I'm still pretty new to this.

That's good. When I had this issue on emuNAND, I had to manually update by installing .cias every time there was an update. Until one of the updates bricked the emuNAND and I had a hell of a time transferring my data (because ctrtransfer didn't really exist yet) to a new emuNAND.

For anyone that comes across this thread later down the line, ctrtransfer is probably the solution.
