Hello guys, I'm running a homebrew sys 11.6.0-39U version. My 3ds gave me a notification to update, I'm guessing to the 11.8 version released at the end of july. Would updating brick my 3ds or will it maintain my homebrew at sys 11.8? What will I lose in terms of features if I do update?

First of all, ¿which version of Luma do you have? cause to update to 11.8 you need the latest 9.1 Luma version.
Second, do you have A9LH or B9S. Because if u are with A9LH, will be not possible for you to update Luma to the latest.
Third, if you have B9S already, you need to update Luma to the lates vr. as i said , and then replace the Boot.firm file on you´re SD card for this one: https://github.com/hax0kartik/luma-hourlies/releases/tag/79-luma3ds-89cc6ed Which is compatible with 11.8. That´s it.

Sorry, if you couldn't tell I'm still a newbie to the whole homebrew scene. My luma version is 9.0-2a840f2. I'm not entirely sure how I can check whether I have A9LH or B9S, but I do believe its B9S as when I start my 3ds with the start button held I can access the SafeB9SInstaller. But when I access luma, its telling me that it can't find the system update info.

Sorry for being a bit naive to this.

UPDATE: I have updated my Luma to 9.1, should I update my system and THEN replace my boot.firm? Or should I download the boot.firm and THEN update my system?
