Hello! I am quite new to this website, so please excuse any common errors or mistakes I make. Anyways, I have been trying to hardmod my Old 3DS XL, and I have successfully got all of the wires soldered onto the board, and the Micro SD Card Adapter. I am using an Anker USB 3.0 Card Reader Model: AR200. But, when I plug the 3ds into the PC that I'm using, (WIN 10) It doesn't recognize the device, even though the blue error screen shows up. It doesn't show up in win32diskmanager either. Am I doing something wrong?

Why do you want to hardmod it?

you don't need to go back to 9.4 to revert the 3DS back to its unhacked state
you can run the uninstallation script on 11.6

Yes, I read that, thanks. However that would mean the 3DS is at a newer firmware, and thus harder to hack ;-). I really only need to know one thing now: if I use my sysnand backup (made with fw 9.4, from section VII of the Finalizing page of the guide) after updating to 11.6, will the system stay at 11.6 or go back to 9.4?

if you use the nand backup that is 9.4 the system will then become 9.4 again

No systems are really hard to hack nowadays ($2 for a DSiWare game), and why are you concerned about it being hard to hack? Systems are worth more if they are hacked, and if you're selling to someone who wants you to uninstall CFW then why be concerned if it is easy to hack?

Thanks! It's more of a just in case scenario. I'm not about to sell, but if I do, I like to have options.

I currently have a hacked Old 3DS and just recently upgraded to a "New" 2DS XL model. I want to carry over all of my hacks from my Old 3DS to my New 2DS XL. Before I start hacking my new model though, I wanted to double check with people on this forum, will following the 'Flashing ntrboot (multi 3DS System)' process seen here allow me to transfer all of my old hacks to my New 2DS XL: https://3ds.hacks.guide/flashing-ntrboot-(3ds-multi-system)

Or am I better off following one of the other guides on that website that only deal with a single 3DS system and a flashcart, and then manually installing all of my old hacks? Thank you for your time.

If you already have a flashed ntrboot flashcart then just install it with ntrboot (https://3ds.guide/installing-boot9strap-(ntrboot)) then backup your tickets, do a system transfer, and restore the tickets (or run tikShop).
If you don't have a cart already, then do the DSiWare hax method. https://3ds.guide/installing-boot9strap-(dsiware-game-injection). Afterwards restore the pre-transfer NAND backup and extract the tickets, and inject them on the target console (or run tikShop) to make the games show up again.

Doing that requires the roms to be on the system's SD card and mine is a full 32gb, and sadly for whatever reason 64gb sd cards cannot be read by the system. Furthermore, from an aesthetic standpoint, I hate the GBA virtual being on the upper screen, I LOVE the home brew mgba cause I can pick which screen I want it on but that kicks me back to the original issue of lack of room which is why I was looking for either a plugin I could use via the r4 woodware or a flat gbaemu.nds

If you format it to FAT32, you can use a 64GB SD Card or larger
