1) loading of normal DS games on the 3DS isnt that great, and isnt compatible with all games etc
2) yes
3) you can use the devices without a switch on other devices, but you would need to reflash the ntrboot to it again, then reflash the normal firmware back to use it for DS games

1. I'm mostly looking into 3DS games and this shouldn't be a problem right?
2. Would it be better to run those SD game right of the flash card then?

I really appreciate your efforts!

Hello my friends got a o3ds 2.1.0-4U but what does this step mean? New 3DS 2.1.0 users must restore their NAND backup before going to the Finalizing Setup page. so I have to make a nand backup and then restore it? this 3ds was never hacked by the way.
That step is only for people with a "New" 3DS (with the C-Stick) and they were on 2.1.0. If you have an old 3DS (one without the C-Stick), you skip that step.

I'm completey overwhelmed with all the conflicting info I am finding and hoping someone can point me to the right place. Some say you need a flashcard, some say you don't. I live in a remote area ( no quick access to flash card) and have no issue with hard mods as I've done quite a few before on the 360, Wii and currently waiting on the switch.

I've got a 2ds xl on 11.6.

Can I complete the actual mod with a sd car/tools and some elbow grease?

If so is there a current guide that I can use that doesn't make reference to 100 different was of doing it?

Hello all. I ordered a Ace3DS Plus flashcart for DS games on my CFW New 3DS XL. It still hasn't shipped yet, and I have 2 questions:
1. Where is the save folder located? X:\_rpg\saves?
2. Will microphone work? For Spirit Tracks.

Thanks!

if you dont wish to get a flkashcart, then the best option you have is to spent $2 and get sudoku and follow the seedminer stuff

or just reply and i'll PM to help

That's awesome and thanks so much for the help.

I gave it a quick browse and I'll give it a good read while in bed shortly.

I watched a YouTube video with the soldered hardmod and a sd card. Is that still a usable option as well?

Great thanks.

So I'm safe to go ahead with the hardmod?

Provided I don't grasp the instructions you gave me?

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
