Slightly confused. The way https://github.com/AuroraWright/arm9loaderhax/tree/master reads, it sounds like I need OTP.bin, secret_sector.bin, and both firm files in the root of the compilation directory, before I run make. Is that right? I am able to compile without the input files, and no errors are thrown. Plus, why would we need them during compilation and installation time? Can anybody confirm this for me please? I'm not a fan of bricking systems.

my 3DS is ver 7.2.0-17U, can I hack it or not? do I have to by a flash/R4 card to play rom games on it?
does all the games play on a hacked 3DS? and most important, can anyone tell me what should I do starting from ZERO cause I really don't get all this DSTWO/ninjahax/NAND thing

A9LH. I've been reading up on it for days and days. i keep finding it confusing.
Currently i'm on a N3DS. 9.0 EU firmware. 10.7 emunand made ages ago with gateway launcher. i used to use rxtools, recently updated to AuReinand.

to get my OTP do i need to install a new emunand? do i downgrade sysnand or emunand to 2.1? i've been using this guide https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-2-(Downgrading) but it relies on you following every step from the start. and if you already have homebrew/emunand its just extremely confusing. anyone have a better simpler guide?

I've got both of those. My real issue is, I can't install the gba games on my sysNand using SD. I installed the games to nand and they didnt work so i deleted them

Hello guys. Another noob question. So i wanted to move Games, Saves, Themes, and Emunand to a new SD card. I've follwed this guide https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-installing-rxtools-custom-firmware-3ds-and-2ds.390867/. First method doesn't work for me so i tried the second one,but when i am trying to do this:
10.Under the Format EmuNAND section, make sure that your new SD card is selected, then click "Start Format"
Start Format button doesn't pop up

You need a cia manager such as FBI to install cias.

You can place the cias wherever you want because the cia manager will let you explore the folders in order to find the cia you want to install, it's better to put all your cias on a "cias" folder though

I need massive help right now.
So I have AureiNand, Decrypt9WIP, EmuNEND9, FBI, Gateway and rxTOOLs, as I mentioned before.
I'm trying to install the CIAs thorugh FBI, but I'm getting a invalid signature error.
Do I need to do anything when I run FBI for the first time?
Also, when I open rxTools, I get redirected to boot menu where i get to choose whether to launch Sysnand, Emunand or pastamode. What are these?

Wondering if I can still install legit game CIA's on 10.7.0-32U? I've still got access to HBL, I just want to know if I can still install legit CIA's since apparently Pokemon Y didn't install properly, and I want to install Yokai Watch as well. This is on my legit console, not a CFW/GW console. And if I can still install them, can I just use NASA like I used to?

First of all I was wondering if there is a *nix version of 3DS Simple CIA Converter. If not I guess I can go fire up the Windows machine.

Second question is I've seen threads like this https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-how-to-bypass-nnid-bans-miiverse-online-eshop-etc.417999/ and https://gbatemp.net/threads/error-code-002-0102-have-i-been-banned.380654/ (this thread seems to be related to public headers and flash carts). I've also seen threads where people say if your game is a .cia then this banning thing shouldn't be an issue.

-Convert my carts to installable files
-I have Bravely Default and Pokemon Y can I go online with them if I follow this route ?
-What happens if I have Pokemon Y physical game in my hack-free 3DS and I have Pokemon Y the .cia on the a9lh 3DS XL ?
--Can I go online with both at the same time ? Say I had one connected online and forget about it and then have the other do the same.
--Can I trade with myself OFFLINE without there being any issues ?

I used SafeSysUpdater from 10.2 to 9.2, verified the files, and the downgrade process started.

Out of the blue (no reboot message appeared) the screen went black and stayed like that for 10 minutes, I rebooted and it says 9.2 now.

Should I update to 10.7 and try to downgrade again if it seems not to have completed the process?

yes, you have nothing to lose. just make sure that you have a 10.7 entrypoint.
