Homebrew 3DS Modding Youtube Channels Being Hit By Copyright Strikes

Looks like Nintendo is going after peeps on Youtube who make videos on how to install CFW, Stream without a capture card etc. In short anything related to 3ds modding is being targeted.

Worst hit is Yakara Colombia (AFAIK he's the dude who left his otp.bin in a zip file and caused multiple bricks), his channel is being shutdown in 7 days.

I think Ninty is going after CFW and trying to make a point before the Switch release. Maybe they are trying to send a strong message or something.

And can I just say finally? I'm so hoping that this happens to a lot of videos, so that we won't be seeing random, terrible, outdated videos posted here anymore. Those people may have put in a lot of hard work to make their tutorials, but that "hard work" will always be outdated by the glorious guide made by Plailect.

I only said that because I saw it on a comment on a thread similar to this in r/3dshacks. I'm not sure if it's true or not, as they didn't provide a source. People need to treat YouTube like how we (are supposed to) treat GBAtemp. It's against the ToS to post a video with links to wares either in the video or description. I suggest to put a pastebin containing the illegal download links to try and mask them with legal looking zip file names (like: kitty_pics.zip) with passwords (like: smea_loves_rimjobs) that you get from watching the video.

I mean just keep it on the down low and you'll be fine.

Unfortunately, that's not gonna stop them from bricking. Noobs can brick with Plailect's guide because they can't follow instructions.

oh yeah, I have been part of many of those threads.

• I pressed the wrong button hence I dont have a backup
• my sd card was low on space so I skipped the backup part
• I didn't think this was necessary so i skipped it

It's been a fun experience ever since I joined gbatemp a few months back.
