Sent this to gateway
I don't own a gateway and don't plan on getting it but

To: [email protected]

I know that you put bricking code in YOUR launcher.dat
People have confirmed it.
So stop denying it and blaming others!

You bloody coders didn't think that a simple read error could f**k the whole system up?

Also one of your customers got his bricked when using it legit

Hope that does something at least

This is just a repeat of trueblue mess in ps3 scene, funny thing is that the same guy from crunch is the face and promoter of both ripoffs, should've known better.

Just as i warned people to stay away from True Blue, i also warned them to stay away from Gateway.
ANYTHING connected to to that idiot is not to be trusted.

the irony in that post is astounding.

unfounded accusation of hypocrisy laid at my feet is just another ad hominem. embarrassing.

Well, thanks for proving my point. Your sarcastic attitude in your replies to others has been little better than the "insulting" reply aimed at your previous post, yet you have the gall to sit up there on your high horse pretending that you're above it all. Just saying.

Just as i warned people to stay away from True Blue, i also warned them to stay away from Gateway.

garyOPA is involved with Gateway? Or did I just misunderstand that?

I hope someone will find a way to patch the launcher and remove the brick code
well i head someone drain their 3DS battery out and recharge it, and it turn back to normal. i will try it later.

also, this prove i'm not the only legit gateway user that experienced this problem. that user from maxconsole just BOUGHT his card and it bricked before he is able to play a single minute of his 3DS.

yeah but we play games on gw, since august. and its value of 300+ games are already payed off by 1000%

There's already a post on the front page about bricks. Honestly, your problem is nothing new. People have reported blue screens on their 3DS for years. Google's your friend here.

Was the brick caused by using a flash cart? Possibly. Was it caused by Gateway's "kill code"? Possibly. Was it caused by random chance? Possibly. Are you secretly a superhero whose abilities are electricity-based and you accidentally fried the chip in your sleep? Possibly. Call be a Gateway fanboy if you want (to be an idiot), but we have no proof that your problem is because of Gateway's "kill code." Yes, the fact that such a code exists is ludicrous, but correlation does not imply causation.
Have you checked the older blue screen error codes? The error code on this one is the exact same as the clone bricks, but I'm not sure whether the error code on the older blue screens was different or not. If it's different, this was probably because of the kill code.

I have completely removed the battery for about 10 minutes but it didn't fix anything

Update on the last email
It's been confirmed, an actual gateway user has got a bricked

If he already has a gateway, why the fuck would he also have a clone card?
Just remove your fucking bricking code in the next update

If the OP's launcher.dat was corrupt, it wouldn't load in the first place due to the sanity check Gateway built in their launcher firmware. Given that the file was not corrupt it seems that an unmodified launcher.dat isn't as safe as Gateway claims. Also lol @ this post, coming from someone who registered here when this site was a rom site.
