Hacking 3DS -help

so i planning on buying a Nintendo 3ds( i assume that it comes with stock v1.0.0).
so do i have to update my new bought r4i gold 3ds which i have not open yet?

and if i do how would go about that?

1.0 hasn't been stock for a long time. All the video game companies update the firmware systems come with at the factory every so often. Anything new will have at least 4.x, maybe 5.x if it's fresh stock.

What's the site printed on the flash cart's box? Where did you buy it from?
