Is anyone on firmware 5.x or 6.x? what are you gonna do regarding gateway? i have mine there, and ive been playing less and less. I was hoping on quicker support for Gateway for my firmware, and i'm getting close to saying "screw it" and updating.

If they do find an exploit it will probably exist on the latest firmwares so if I were you I'd update. No point sitting around waiting for something that may not happen anyway.

Yes, I have a EU 6.x which i promptly updated to 7.1. What I did regarding gateway? I bought a 4.5 US set. You need to get one pronto. 4.5 sets are becoming really rare and hence the costs will go up really soon.

i have seen the chatter over at maxconsole with a few people thinking they're abandoned the project. It certainly is a disappointing thought.

It doesn't make sense for them not to release whatever they have so far.

It would make far more sense for them to release what day have to squeeze out the last remaining sales before abandoning.

Most likely what is happening is they are refining their work (be it bricking code or multirom etc etc) at their own pace.

I bought a gateway ready XL (4.4.0-10E) a couple of weeks ago for 150€ on ebay Germany. This week the same one is 230€, 7/9 left from that particular seller. If you can get one now do it, it´s only a matter of time before they are all too expensive or gone all together. Sorry if it´s slightly off topic, just wanted to emphasize the price difference over one week.

ops and u have buy a dead card for 150 euro 2 week ago?!?!? you have not done a good deal, i think

ops sorry i have not understund :)

I would imagine that they will need to test their memory hacks with every known rom released in all regions and ideally do more than 'it loads' testing on the popular roms. Perhaps they found some issues with certain roms. In the mean time, enjoy "multirom" via the eshop (20% off eshop cards this week via BestBuy). There are plenty of great eshop-only games.

What is the point to constantly heckle and nag Gateway for an update? Perhaps you're frustratingly deciding between a comparable competing product, have an expiring coupon, and have a vacation next week filled with plenty of boring plane rides. Frankly, that is really a problem you created for yourself. Gateway is a business and their main concern is getting your money. For them to get the update out will help them get more money. Having the update not backfire like the last "brickgate" update will help them get more money. Having the update being hard to copy will help them get more money. They have bills, rent and payroll to pay. That is what motivates them. Not your anger or your "concern".

I personally believe they could have run away just because they stopped answering emails a few days ago; funny enough, this started after the "brick for using Diagnostic test" video.

I don't know if it's because of the brick video but it did prove one thing, gateway have been lying their asses off about the bricking. Face it, if a company can blatantly lie about one thing, what's to stop them from lying about another?

Shame none of the clone companies can actually do any real work of their own and put out a legitimate competitor. I have a feeling gateway packed up their bags (of cash) and left

Gw team has lied about everything they promised updates, but in the end I know that the GW will have no more updates! I will buy a new card only if will be make from a important team (like supercard)

Just flicking through their homepage updates, I have noticed:
Days between news updates -
6
2
19
23
13
5
12
30
16
6
3
6
3
9
7
1
34 (and counting)

Obvious thing to see is that, the frequency of update to the website tends to fluctuate pretty predictably, then, since brickgate, they've been quick to update the page with relative high frequency until it was proven that the B2 also causes bricks. Since then silence, nothing, the longest wait since release with no update (granted by not a lot).

I have to say it guys, I think the worse has happened. I think they have bailed on this one. I think they were hoping to grab another chunk of the market by bricking the clone's devices, so those with bricked consoles source another 4.5 3DS and go for the original gateway card when repurchasing (hence the intensity of blame on the clones on their homepage). What they didn't expect was to tarnish their brand with an unforeseen coding mistake.

I think they ran but maybe they are not answering anymore because the will launch it in a few hours.

OK, let's try to be optimistic, i'll wait till the end of this week  And even if they run away this time, perhaps they will reappear with new FC (and of course new name) in next few moths, i don't think they could waste these multi-rom and that stupid brick code they've been working on so far :hateit:

It took them a week to reply to my e-mail last time ... we'll see but I still have faith they'll release 2.0F :S
