Did you go to gateway and check it out. It even says it in the description. I'm over this conversation. Believe it or not I really don't care. I know I'm not bullshitting!

I saw it as well, no need of getting your panties in a bunch. AS others have been saying, they had 3 Micro SD with the image of a game previously recorded on them. The lady just switched MicroSDs through the whole video.

i saw that video too ,but for some reason that shit dont work for me ,if i try and eject the msd without removing the red card and put in a new msd it will crash and it also will crash if i go to home and then eject the red card and put a new msd in the red car and put it back in the system , i think i had it working with removing the red card to switch the msd , but i think it was on an earlier fw, the new fw (im using 2.0b1) seems to always crash and need a reboot and back to ds setting exploit every time you switch a rom even if you remove the the red card to change the msd

Wow sorry I tried to share some actual information that I was told by gateway. Next time I'll just speculate about bull shit because that's what everyone seems to like. And once again the video I saw didn't have some lady switching out micro sd. Because that wouldnt be that impressive to me. I only tried to share what I was told and even put the disclaimer that although it was from gateway it may not be a valid source but its the best answer I had gotten from them so far.

Gateway released more news today 1/20/14.

20/01/2014

We are receiving many emails from worried customers switching from unstable Gateway clones (mainly 3DS Link/ R4i Gold 3DS/MT Card) to an original Gateway card. Worries about the possible bricking of their console because of their past use of a clone.

In fact, you do not need to worry as long as you have the proper Launcher.dat on your SD card.

Just please make sure you download the latest release bundle (today Beta 2.0b2) from our web site, and copy the official Launcher.dat to your 3DS SD, to confirm you are using the correct file, enter into the GW menu and you should see Our Gateway banner on the top screen as well as GW beta 2.0b2 on the top of the bottom screen. ENJOY :)

Did gateway release a new 2.0b2 launcher today?

I know about the 2.0b2 launcher that's been out since Dec. 24.

I was more inquiring of the news dated 1/20/14, is that old news or new news, because judging by the date on the news post it's from the last 24 hours.

Its new news but nothing new in terms of releases. Actually it's more of a PR statement from the team.

This is open forum as long as I'm on topic and not being rude to others I can post whatever I want.

This is quite off-topic but it's mostly a friendly reminder, you are indeed free to speak your mind, however you constantly double post, which is actually against the rules. If you forget to say something in your previous post, edit it instead of posting another reply.

General Forum Decency

This public forum is intended for users of all ages, please take this into consideration when posting. Please use common sense and don't post explicit profanity, we are not strict on the use of swearing but please show respect for the members of GBAtemp.

The following rules and guidelines on forum decency or "netiquette" are all mostly common sense, but we know some members lack any common sense so we've listed them here for you to review and hopefully abide by:

  • All posts should be made in legible English. Do not make posts or topics in foreign languages, they are likely to be closed. We will be lenient on this rule from time to time as long as it doesn't become a habit amongst members.
  • Before you start a topic, perform a search to see if the question or topic you wish to create has been made before. If it has, post in the topic that already exists. Duplicate topics will be closed.
  • Please make the topic title you are creating descriptive, clearly reflecting the topic you are addressing. Do not make generic titles such as "Question", "I need help", or in full capitals, with an obscene amount of periods, exclamation marks, question marks, etc. These topics will probably go unnoticed, whereas a topic with a descriptive title will gain more interest.
  • Stay on topic; posts that do not may be removed. If you wish to discuss a different subject take it to the proper thread.
  • When replying to a topic, don't; unless you have something meaningful to say or something that will contribute to the discussion. Posts such as "Yes", "I agree", "LOL", "When will it be dumped?" or "When will it be translated?"; and nothing but images/emoticons or internet memes are useless and are wasteful on the servers. This is not GameFAQs or 4chan!
  • If you have an issue with a member or moderation decision contact the member in question or a staff member via PM. DO NOT air your grievances publicly in the original topic or otherwise.
  • Do not post someone's personal information without the proper consent. This includes personal photos, names, addresses, phone numbers, E-mail, instant messenger handles, conversation logs, etc. If the person requests that you remove the subject matter you must comply or else the staff members will intervene.
  • Absolutely no posting of pornographic content of any kind, linked to or otherwise.
  • Show some restraint on the amount of images you post. Posts or topics with many images are a strain on dial-up users, so please be courteous.
  • If one of your posts is removed don't repost it without staff permission, this is considered disrespectful and may result in a warning increase.
  • When posting please refrain from double/triple/etc posting and from creating multiple topics about the same subject.
  • Don't make secondary accounts, duplicate accounts will be banned.
  • Avoid bumping (reviving) old or new topics; they'll be replied to when they're replied to.
  • Use the report function! If you see someone breaking a rule, report it. Don't reply to a post you've just reported and don't write an essay for the report reason but DO make it clear why it should be removed.

I'm quite curious as to what the Gateway team will try to do to fix all this mess and uproar going on, like it or not, their image has been damaged.

With all the mess occurred with Gateway I switch my FW to 2.0b1. Something I noticed about people who got their 3ds brick is that they all used EmuNAND with 2.0b. Could this be that EmuNAND ticker the Brick code?

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
    +1
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
