Yeah I'm not buying any flashcard anytime soon :S everything stinks atm and I would suggest everybody to wait

No wonder there is so much confusion over the required 3DS firmware version:

Obviously they are talking about the blue cart not the gold one...

So I've been looking at the wiki page. http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Gateway_3DS#Version_2.0b2_.282013-12-23.29

It seems that GW 2.0b2 "Fixed/Added support for 3DS System Transfer option when using emuNAND" what does that exactly imply? I turn on my source 3ds and my target 3ds (already booted into emunand) and do the system transfer? That's it?

Also, what about the MT-card? http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/MT-Card#version_1.1_.282014-02-28.29

It doesn't mention anything about system transfer using emunand. However apparently there's widespread assumption that MT1.1 is based off 2.0b2.

Hi guys,

I hope I'm asking for help in the right place. I've been trying for the past two days to get my flashcart to work but haven't had any success.

I bought this flashcart a year ago and it worked fine. My 3DS is now Ver. 6.3.0-12E and the card doesn't load

I went to r4ids.cn to download the latest firmware and patches, but the ftp links wouldn't work. I eventually found (I think) the latest rar files hosted elseware.

I formatted my SD card (FAT32) and extracted the files to root (__rpg folder, _DS_MENU.DAT, R4iGold_3DS62_Patch_NDSi_3DS.nds)

I plugged all this into my NDS Lite and ran the patch file. On pressing A to start updating I get the message:
"Fail
Press KEY_A again"

After Googling around for answers, I read about ejecting and reinserting the flash cart at this point.

I tried this and it seemed to work. I get the "Card Check OK" message, followed by a progress bar and finally "Upgrading succeds".

I then reinserted the card into my 3DS and got the same error message: "An error has occurred..."

How can I get this card to work again? Have I bricked it somehow in the update process?

Thanks a lot!

iirc that might be he card that requires you to cut the pcb after updating

The wire was too deeply embedded to cut, so I made a small hole by using a screwdriver as a bradawl. I was certain I'd bricked it by this point, but it's finally working!

Thank you so much for your help :)

its the same generic email they sent to pretty much everybody who asked and its from march 10th

Any Aussies Tempers here got an MT card? If so, where did you buy it from?

I work in the mines, 1000 km is the closest city to my work and I've only got one MicroSD.... I need to get me some Multi Rom!!!! Lol.

Do you think the gateway3ds twitter is a reliable source for info? I just saw this : Gateway 3DS@Gateway3DS 5 h
@mstrasser_ We don't know how long it will take. We want the firmware to be stable and safe. We hope it will not take more than a few weeks.

afaik the twitter is a fake account, according to gateways own site

Team Gateway will EXCLUSIVELY communicate about news/update/info on our official website here or via our official email [email protected]
Anything different such as Twitter, Facebook, Google+, other emails etc. is not coming from Team Gateway. Watch out for fake accounts/scammers!

Even if it was "reliable" they've been saying that for months now. So pretty much no Gateway news is reliable at the moment.
