Do I use the latest Gateway launcher.dat????
And I am on 9.4 just to let you know
and I cant seem to understand why this doesn't work

If you have emunand in your SD card, put the SD card in your pc and run that program. That's all.
The launcher.dat that you have doesn't matter at all for this.

You use the option to Format Emunand in GW Menu.

If you don't even know that, I suggest you read the guides.

There's no way to backup or restore NAND without a firmware in 9.2 or below + GW launcher or a hardmod.

if you're in 9.4, why do you care? It's not like you'll be able to use GW and you can't access eShop without updating. Sky3DS also works with 9.5 so there's absolutely no reason to not update if you plan on using eShop. If you don't use eShop, it's also irrelevant to update or not, at least until games requiring that firmware come out which won't happen any time soon

I suppose update size listed on the link you provided are bytes, so that should be around 250mb ~ overall updates from 9.0 to 9.5. Is that a reasonable size? Thank's a lot, I wouldn't be able to find such a website. This is what's make this community wonderful.
