While we would like to be able to tell for sure what may happen if you update your system, we simply don't know whether or not your system will be bricked. Because the AceKard is not an authorized product (and hasn't undergone any sort of testing by our company), we can't guarantee what it may due to a system once it's been used (this is why we discourage people from using this type of product on our systems). Although we can't make any guarantees, you may want to try reformatting your system. For instructions on doing this, please go to the following page on our support site:

Click on "Other Settings", followed by "Hot to Format the System Memory".
