2 USB thumbdrives at the same time for vWii and Wii U?

Can you have 2 USB thumbdrives plugged in at the same time and use one for vWii and the other for Wii U or is it a case of disconnect and reconnect each time you change between devices? Also can anyone recommend a good 128GB USB drive? IIRC 2.0 works better than 3.0 as some of them aren't recognized.

I'm currently researching this myself and from what I understand, it is possible if you hide the vWii drive with UStealth or USB Toggle; they change the boot signature from the standard 55-AA to 55-AB.

Pros: You can use two drives simultaneous and the Wii U no longer nags to format the vWii drive.
Cons: Only some apps can access the drive.
Drive needs to be changed back in order to view or change contents on computer.
I've heard about problems with it.

I'm not even to the point of modding my vWii yet but hope to do it soon.
