i'm stuck at the finding konohamaru part too...
someone pls help.
i had when to every single place i could even to the forest where mizuki is. but that seems to be for a later stage.

the answer might be in the forest beyond the rock boulders...

Tried GameFAQs.com? There's a huge thread about it so it seems most people are stuck there. I think someone just posted a detailed solution there. Just browse to the last page.

Go to Konoha then speak to the NPC who is at the right of the ramen restaurant, after that continue to your right and go speak to the NPC near the picture of naruto and quit the village.
Then return to Konoha (a mysterious box is following you

) and walk ahead. At a moment it will be a conversation between the 3 genins then exit Konoha and go to the training area to beat Konohamaru's tutor.

inuyasha268: to save, press select, and it brings up the save menu.

has anyone else noticed this game is an overdump. at 800000, the whole thing repeats, including the title, so it sems it is only a 64M game instead of a 128. that means there is plenty of room to add for a translation, and keep it under 128. great news for me.

At Gamefaqs they say :

1st person: Lady just outside the Hokage's house
2nd person: Ninja right outside the academy
3rd person: When first walking into academy, ninja at door going into the hallway where the mission room is
4th person: Ninja right outside the door of the mission room
5th person: Ninja to the left of the ramen shop
6th person: Man in brown shirt to the right of the ramen shop
7th person: Person right in front of person

I Tried it and it worked for me.
