Ok my next step is ripping the ISO. I have used CleanDump to make a 1:1 copy of Smash Brothers.

Details are:

Filename: RSBP01
Internal Name: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
MD5: C2255D53E08D6E1E6D25114BE9F1BEC1
SHA-1: 666AD47A8C4010FAECF77A92565E1F4E077A586B
CRC32: CB762C85
Version: 1.01
Verified: No

My question is, this does not match the info on http://wiitdb.com/Game/RSBP01

Does this mean the dump has not been completed correctly?

Ok, I am getting through it all, right up until the Stage Builder step.

Once I've deleted the custom levels, quit out etc, then go back in, it freezes with a high-pitch noise (at the stage select screen).

It seems this is a bit of a common problem but no real solutions...?

- Scrap that, I will leave this here in case of people who google for a solution, however the answer is to ensure you delete everything, THEN insert the card (after leaving to the main menu).

So far so good though guys, didn't have a single issue with discs etc

Finally, got HBC and Bootmii on there.

Was able to swap SD cards in the Bootmii menu, to swap a SDHC into the system, thus allowing me to make a NAND backup.

Then, I'll get back to installing the system on again

Thankyou everyone for the help, was quite concerned at one point there!

Ok, just an update.

I initially didn't use your update IOS package, as my internet was quite slow last night. Subsequently I was having a few issues with Homebrew Channel 1.0.8. DSI Exception errors etc whenever loading apps.

Using 1.0.3 I was able to load MMM and install the update IOS package, which seems to have removed all my problems.

As far as removing stub IOS70 I'm not sure how I go about this. I have AnyTitle Deleter which can not see IOS70, and when using MMM to remove stubbed IOS there is no option for IOS70. I have priiloader working which as far as I can tell wouldn't happen if IOS70 was still there...?

Perhaps you don't have ios70, or your missing it because it is a stub. Regardless, you should install ios60-v6174 into ios slot70/80, and the version should be elevated above 10000. You can install the cios70/80 from my guide or install the patched ios70/80 for KOREAN wiis from modmii. This will prevent your wii from bricking should you update to 4.2 on that stub ios70 and prevent error 003 on 4.2/4.3. I also suggest installing ios60-v6174 into ios slot 90, you can use the cios90 from my guide or install it with MMM ios manager, with elevated version above 10000. ios90 would likely protect against a future system update.
