Gaming Can I use glitches in Pokémon Crystal (3DS version)? Can it cause any problem?

Hi guys!

I'd like to try the cloning glitch on my 3DS. It is still possible, right? Did they fix it?

I heard there's a chance it causes problem (loss of data)

How likely is it to happen?

If I mess up, I can just simply restart the game, right? It won't mess up the game and/or my 3DS, right?

If you’re worried about data loss, get homebrew or cfw and back up your save file with a save manager, then do the glitch. Better to be safe than sorry

Yeah it's possible to do the cloning glitch although it is very tricky in Pokémon Crystal. I managed to use it at least twice.

As far as I know, there is no chance of losing data if you reset the virtual console in the right message.

I managed to clone following those steps:
1. Save your game
2. Go to a PC and deposit the Pokémon you want to clone
3. Change to an empty box and when you see the full message "SAVING... DON'T TURN OFF THE POWER." (including the final dot) wait like 0.5/1s, hit the touchpad and reset the game.

For me in this game, it's hard to do and it doesnt worth at all unless I want to clone an important item.
