    Yeah but what I mean a websites going to have more of your related interests like I doubt a Elvis fan website would have that much in common with a 50 cent fan and that's cool. May find some actual people off those websites but do be cautious if meeting up with anyone online. But still personal friends don't always have to like everything you do for you to tolerate them could just be you like each other's personality which I'd take over anything any day.

    I get what you mean! They're my friends nonetheless, and we do still play modern games together! It's just that I wish someone would play retro games with me irl lol.

    Yeah, I pretty much have nobody to invite over to play to begin with. I can feel that. Really, I managed maybe an hour or two of couch co-op all my life. :sad:

    My Quake3 WiiU port is going "great"
    And for great I mean that It's been two weeks and I only got the cinematic intro to render.
    Should I keep going or should I work on one of my next projects? aka Lilium-Arena-Classic for Wii/PS3 so it can crossplay with Dreamcast clients of Quake3? Or should I work on the Xbox One port? At the moment the only consoles that don't have a Q3 port are.... WiiU and Xbox One.

    I know Adrenaline only shows my free space modulus 512 GB, so I assume that's the limit. Could be other issues forcing a lower limit too though.

    At the moment the only things left are the controllers and the possibility to host games. Once I'm done setting these up the port is done. I did all the improvements I was able to do.

    I haven't been very active lately because I'm focussing on a stupid project just for the sake of keeping myself busy with my silly little games.

    Here's a piece of ioQuake3 running on Wii with no 3D rendering. I wonder how far I can take it to get it even remotely playable and able to crossplay with other ioQuake3 ports...

    And a WonderSwan too. You have an interesting collection. Mostly normal, except for those, lol.
    BTW, that Game Boy Pocket(?) in the middle needs some love. Put an IPS screen in it or something. :)

    I also like the DMG. If it played GBC games, it would be the perfect Game Boy. That GBC CPU mod for the DMG looks interesting, kind of want to try building one but it's rather daunting.

    Took my GameCube to a local repair shop for a recap and they want 65 bucks (20 Euros for the caps and 45 for the job), even though I mostly play my GC games on my Wii I accepted because I really care about my consoles being in good conditions. Next one to fix will be my Dreamcast and my OG XBox. The fact 7th gen consoles broke before my Game Gear is mind blowing to me, though.

    man, for that price you can take a course on soldering and do it yourself.

    There's still the risk of ripped pads and such, I even heard that there are techniques of safely pulling caps other than just trying to desolder and pull them normally

    There are several:

    • Use a hot air station.
    • Cut the capacitors with twizers so only the pins are on the pads and you can remove them easy.
    • Add plenty low temp solder to the current one before start desoldering.

    LMAO YEAH, literally the only reason I tinker with my consoles: see useless BS such as that one. I also changed my CRT nowadays but I still have that small boi somewhere at home.

    Seeing Quake 3 crossplayed between various devices actually gave me a maniac laughter the first time I did it

    so basically i stumbled upon a video of his on youtube of them running a gba emulator on a ps2 and they were playing pokemon emerald on it and i commented "this is so cursed yet so cool, this reminds me of the time i output my switch on my CRT"
