The issue is that even if I bought another one I would eventually end up with the same issue over and over. GCs cost a bit more than that there, so I'd rather have mine fixed and call it done.
Remember when thinking about the price of things like this, you're not just paying for them to replace the caps, you're paying for the time they spent learning how to do it and the equipment that they use to do it properly.
Anyway, kudos to you for breathing new life in your previously dead GameCube!
Also, fun fact: first revision GameCubes that have digital video out have better video than Wiis ever had, but since it's proprietary you can't make use of it unless you use a digital-to-digital (e.g. HDMI) adaptor. Still, personally, I love that!
