I hate this new trend of multiplayer games based on popular film franchises (Friday the 13th, Evil Dead, and coming soon is Killer Klowns from Outer Space). These IPs deserve so much more than a crappy MP-only game. Yes I know they have a pseudo single player experience, but it's usually hot garbage.

Those are both excellent games, and I've heard even better things about the Texas Chainsaw Massacre game.

I hate Smash Bros, because none of the characters feel or play how one would think they would. When I play as mario, I'd expect to run around and jump with mario's typical movesets, like (A) to jump, hold (B) to run, (Z) to crouch, etc. All the smash bros characters feel stiffer than Tekken on the PS1, if that's even possible. You have to push up on the d-pad or stick to jump (which is just retarded beyond belief), and people get so worked-up over things like items being in the match. Like.... Grow the fuck up, lol.
You must have played no more than 10min.
You don´t have to push up to jump. N64: C-buttons, GC: Y or X, Wii and later on: adjustable (maybe it already was on GC). Since the GC title, pushing up can even be deactivated because it could mess with the player´s intention.

Smash Bros characters feel the least stiff. The fact that you walk slowly and in both directs is already unique.

Your expectation to hold a button to run might end up in a future title. The whole control scheme revolves around tapping or pressing the stick. In later games, other ways to execute Smash attacks have been introduced (e.g. C-stick, A+B).

Games I hate: None. Though World of Warcraft has ruined the franchise for me.

Another game I hate (and you probably hate too): Getting Over It.
It makes you lose your mind just trying to climb some meters higher!

Escape from Tarkov. How that game has such a large following is beyond me. Too much downtime, the cheating situation is getting worse, and the devs don’t care.

Rocket League… You’re pushing a ball with a rocket powered car that explodes on impact. That’s it. It stops being fun after 5 minutes.

As in the better stuff came before, or after?
Mostly before. The OG Xbox, Gamecube, and PS2 all had fantastic games. Gen 7 consoles were the biggest push towards making the game consoles into glorified media centers with PC-like hardware in them, and that was a huge turn-off for me. It sort of took the focus away from the games, and many of the games used too much bloom, or were saturated in different shades of brown, striving for too much realism that they just couldn't deliver like today's consoles can. I love the PS4 and PS5 games though, they're pretty good.

I hate gacha games. These games are toxic, preying on vulnerable people and should be outlawed all around the globe. Some countries already did it, I wish mine would follow suit.

As far as specific games go, the first that comes to my mind is Zelda Skyward Sword. Boy did I want to love this game. I really tried. But it's just unplayable. What makes me especially hate it is how overrated it was, and still is (even if people see it more for the piece of shit it is than before). I also hate it because it has brought the whole Zelda license is a very bad direction.

Honorable mention to Zelda Breath of the Wild. Also unplayable, but for very different reasons than Skyward Sword. But at least you can allevate most issues and make it playable with cheats, so I was able to finish that one and even enjoyed the exploration aspect (without the stamina / breakable BS). I also hate it because of how overrated it is and how it has permanently ruined the Zelda series. We will probably never get real Zelda games again because of the undue praise Breath of the Wild got.

I hate Fire Emblem. I tried playing one for the 3DS, and it was more like playing a set of interactive cutscenes, with a few short "battles" in between them. Though the graphics were good, I couldn't connect to the characters or story, and there wasn't much gameplay.

I love the Fire Emblem series but didn't care much for the 3DS entries which lacked any charm and started the trend of bloating up the games with side chores and stuff. If you ever feel like trying the series again, I suggest you try Path of Radiance on Gamecube or one of the GBA entries which are much better entry points in my opinion, they have more charm and are focused on gameplay.

My own entry point was GBA's Fire Emblem (Blazing Blade) and it didn't take much time for me to fall in love, lol.

My first foray into the Fire Emblem series was on the 3DS, and it felt more like a slightly interactive cutscene than it did a game. I wasn't digging it. The gameplay wasn't very intriguing either. And I too hate 99% of mobile/gotcha games.
