Great!Othello installed without a problem on tinwoo via the SD card.
Great!
…and Othello plays without issues?
If so, that eliminates Sigpatches as our issue and clears your Switch configs. Pretty much narrows it down to a Tinfoil issue.
Which version of Tinfoil are you using and what method did you use to install it?
yeah i was able to load the game (though it did ask for an update so I skipped the update and loaded the software).
I have tinfoil 13.0 and via the tinfoil installer i have in my Switch folder
ok I reinstalled tinfoil and followed your directions. and I try to install an nsp and tinfoil's console says incomplete transfer, while on my pc the installer popup stops moving. I was able to do Othello through tinfoil without a problem so it seems bigger files cause this error in tinfoil.
how did you install the driver on your PC? Did you download it from here?

Correct…that’s why I had you grab Othello. It’s the smallest game I’m aware of in the Ninty catalog. Quick, easy, and <4G.yeah along with Nut. should I try to reinstall it?
also I found something odd, when I was moving an nsp I was trying to install onto my sdcard it said the file was too big, the nsp in question is 5GB, my SDcard has 200+ GB in space.

FAT32 has a 4G file limit so the SD Card method inherits that limitation as well. There are ways to split the files but they are tedious and since things like Tinwoo, Tinfoils and DBI do it seamlessly over USB so it’s not woth the hassle.
Lets get USB installation working for Tinwoo. You will need a server on your PC. NS-USBloader is a straightforward/cross platform solution.

Get it running and let’s work on getting that 5G file installed over USB using Tinwoo.
(Once we get Tinwoo sorted we can work on the more complex Tinfoil installation)
after setting things up with NS-USBloader and setting up the drivers. I was able to install the large NSP!
So that means your USB drivers are good. We’ve eliminated a ton of things.
Now we can deep dive…
For tinfoil, what setting are you using?
Something like this?well I was trying to install my nsps via the usb and by dragging said files to the install folder when I access my switch via my PC through the usb hookup
Instead of usbfs as your protocol, try setting it up with just usb as your protocol.yeah, that's how I do it
You have nsp files in the nut.exe directory? If not make sure you navigate to the directory in the nut gui and then run a scan for files.ok I disabled MTP and restarted the tinfoil app. the strange part is that NUT detects a connection between my switch and the pc but no files appear in the usb folder on tinfoil.
