Hi All,

Apologies if I missed a relevant thread -- I've searched around here and some other forums, and posted, but couldn't find quite what I'm looking for.

The lower display on my phat DS was blank -- touch panel works fine, as does the backlight. Same issue with a replacement screen. I then tried adjusting the potentiometer for the lower screen, using the original display, and was able to get some display, but the colors were off, it was a little distorted, and scan lines would show up. I repeated this with the replacement display and only managed to get a red/green checkerboard/plaid pattern that created persistent black vertical lines once the DS was powered off.

The ribbon cables and sockets all look okay, and the potentiometer shows no signs of corrosion or anything. Before I try replacing the pot or scrapping the DS for parts, does anyone have any suggestions?

I recall having a similar problem several years ago, if I gently tried to bend the motherboard (only a little bit) I could hear it creaking like it was perished, I put the board back in the shell, powered it up while pressing certain parts of the board and found it worked with pressure applies in certain areas but not others.
