The actual DLC files are not present in the base game, so...
Really? Someone at reddit upload the costumes and song DLCs and it's just a few kbs.

I promised a Re:Zero OP beatmap for IA/VT and I think I finished a working copy of it. The beatmap itself is converted from osu! (All credit to this beatmap: https://osu.ppy.sh/s/437055), and all the curve stuff and track adjustments were done by me. HUGE THANKS to @Nagato for providing texture conversion tool and overall helping in getting this to work. Please report to me by PM if anything is wrong with this, or you have suggestions on how to improve it. HOW TO INSTALL: Unpack everything from the zip file to Vita at ux0:/app/PCSG00355/ (or ux0:/patch/PCSG00355/ for physical version I guess, need testers) overwriting any file asked. The beatmap will be locked by default, you need to play some other song once to unlock it.

The progress on the tools for making your own beatmaps and osu! converter is going well, but nothing to announce ATM.

I DEMAND "STAY ALIVE" BY EMILIA!

Uh, I mean thanks for this. Works great on a physical cart. Is there a full version though?

I am working on an osu converter right now, so any beatmap that's there could be converted to IA/VT theoretically. Unfortunately I myself don't really have time making more beatmaps and adjusting all the curves and stuff so it looks good. If you just want a straight line without colorful mode though, that's easy to do.

EDIT: About DLC, I found it on reddit and that's just the pre-order DLC and you can probably unlock it without using those files, gotta check. It's just that there are 16 songs in the list that are not present in the game at all, so enabling those will give nothing.

EDIT2: Yup, the pre-order DLC (5 songs) can be enabled by just editing song_list_param, same with costumes - by editing costume_table

Update (9/18/2016:
English translation patch v1.1 has been released!
Just fixed a few small typos, nothing major if you already have it installed.

Update (9/14/2016):

English translation patch v1.0 has been released!

All UI should be 100% translated.
The songs are transliterated (romaji) instead of English translations.

Changelog
Code:
v1.1
Fixed a few typos in descriptions.

v1.0
Initial release.

Instructions
WARNING: Make sure VitaShell is updated to 0.95 or above before installing this patch!
Install VPK. Enjoy.

Known issues
- Trophies are not translated on the system level (popup tips, Trophies bubble, etc). You can view all of the achievements in-game so this isn't a huge issue. I tried my best to get it working but it doesn't seem possible without great effort. I have the trophies translated and in the SFM file already if someone knows how to get this working, or a way to easily use it comes about.

I've been translating something that has to do with video games, and I've encountered a term "特殊連打" in conjunction to an arcade takio game like Takio no Tatsujin. As far as I can tell, this term refers to some particular manner of inputting drum rolls to maximize the number of hits registered. Does this term have any established English equivalent?

While we're on the topic, is there any standard English equivalent of "maibachi?" As far as I can tell, this term is not used in musical takio drumming, and is only used to refer to sticks used to play Taiko no Tatsujin.

Failing that, is there any more appropriate place I might ask about this? I haven't found a better place so far.

I haven't played the game in a long time so I may be foggy, but I'm pretty sure it means you just need to successfully hit all of the colorful markers. Not exactly using the X button. Again, I haven't played the game in a long time so I'm not 100% on the context.

I don't know if you're still around or care for an answer, but I would say it's probably something along the lines of "Special Techniques/Strokes/Rolls" or something along those lines.

From what I can gather through some Japanese Google searching, I think maibachi are just branded bachi (drumsticks for taiko drums) made specifically for Taiko no Tatsujin. If I had to guess, it's a combination of Japan's love for using foreign words + bachi. In this case "my bachi" (personal taiko drumsticks).
Hi, I tried installing the vpk (vitashell 1.78, enso, nonpdrm) and after 99% it reads "Error 0x80AF5022" maybe I need a different dump?

I found that the translation patch will work with RePatch and a nonpdrm copy.

1) Install rePatch, Google rePatch-reDux0 for the latest version.
2) Download the translation patch.
3) Expand the .vpk file with 7zip. Place the two folders (resource and sce_sys, don't need the readme file) into a folder named PCSG00355.
4) Copy PCSG00355 into your repatch folder you created (mine is ux0:repatch) via VitaShell (or USB, whatever your flavor)
5) Launch the game, should now have English menus!

Just did this today, confirmed working with 3.68 hen-core. I can imagine it would work on enso 3.65, provided you install the rePatch plug in.

Hope this helps!
