Hi. Try deleting/renaming "assets", "info" and "media" folders. Your interface may look messed up but it'll work faster.Hi,
Thanx, I will try
As Brian Molko says, ..... and start again, start again.
EDIT : Absolutely no change inloading time after deleting retroarch.cfg
For Example :
21 seconds loading Mame 2003+ Core
Total 25 seconds loading Outrun Arcade + Mame 2003+ Core
That's great news! I'll have to check that out Sound's like not all Cores support extracting to ram?I just tried out 1.9.5 and it looks like a few more cores extract zips straight to RAM now. Genesis Plus GX and VBA Next now load most games within a second or two. Most impressively, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories only takes a bout 3 seconds to load from zip in VBA Next, whereas before it took about 15 seconds. No change in mGBA.
Am I the only one excited about all the improvements lately? I know there's still the Pro Controller issue but there have been improvements on most other fronts.

Do you happen to know the read speed of the SD card? The class number only relates to write speed.I did some tests, loads times seem to take about 7 seconds for genesis plus gx, this using unzipped rom files with reload core disabled, cache info enabled and menu driver set to rgui.
It's definitely an improvement but I've never been able to get load times faster than that, even when just switching content (reload core is disabled as I said).
Some other cores have worse load times. nestopia takes 9 seconds (which is something I didn't expect).
I'm using a class 10 sd with 64kb allocation unit size.
You probably just need to enable advanced settings. Can someone help me?
For the life of me, I couldn't find the core settings to enable info cache files, and disable reload core.
It's supposed to be under settings>cores right? Mine doesn't have it
I'm running 1.9.5 at the moment.

For reference, this is what h2testw rated my 64 GB / 32 KB cluster / FAT32 SD...
Writing speed: 28.8 MByte/s
Reading speed: 80.4 MByte/s
Ah! That did the trick. thanks a lot!You probably just need to enable advanced settings.
Settings > User Interface > Show Advanced Settings > ON
And then set them like this:
Settings > Core > Cache Core Info Files > ON
Settings > Core > Always Reload Core on Run Content > OFF
It should be on the buildbot nowHope that's what everyone wants lol! Oh yes I will update my RA
I will check and test!It should be on the buildbot now
I tried it with an SSD attached to USB. There was no difference whatsoever in load times even with bigger ROMs. This is to be expected since the Wii U only has USB 2.0 ports, which max out at 30-40 MB per second. I don't think it's even using the full speed of my 80 MB per second card in the SD slot.Any test an HD / SSD?
I dug up an old 20 MB per second SD card but load times weren't much slower on it. It was still 1 or 2 seconds for even the biggest SNES and Genesis ROMs. I don't know what the problem could be but you should really try starting from scratch and see if it's any faster. It is a canvas select plus, the reading speed is 98,7 MB/s
I checked it out but didn't see any new settings. Maybe it's still in-progress? I even tried manually setting the buttons on the Pro Controller with the gamepad as controller 1 but it didn't work.I just saw a very interesting PR on the Retroarch github I'm not sure if this is the Pro Controller fix we're after and I haven't got a Pro Controller so I cant test :/
But fingers crossed this could be it
