Is there a way to quickly get back to an island on a switch that had it's island transferred off? The opening setup is annoying and time consuming. Restoring a backup via TinFoil doesn't accomplish this -- you need to go through the setup process. Likewise, JKSV doesn't list ACNH as a device save game to restore you last backup until you've completed the setup process.
There isnt, you must pass tutorial and then restore with jksv, or it wont register your save, at most you can make a secondary and send it to the other switch

hello. i wanna ask how to download the C patch for acnh in my CFW?
thanks
I injected one of Eevee's Save Project Saves; in the save's title, it includes "Turkey Day + Toy Day + New Year's." It automatically applied the c patch to my game. I then injected my desired island backup via JKSV and all has been good since. I don't know to what extent I'm able to share or link stuff regarding the saves, but I believe there's a thread somewhere on here, plus you can find all you will need through a quick web search.

There are also BCAT files you can apply, also through JKSV. There's a regularly updated archive on Github. I just personally haven't tried that method. Best of luck!

Anyone have any workarounds for moving a single profile (non-primary) to a secondary island? The typical Nintendo standard applies -- must be a linked account, must be online, must have two purchased of the game, must officially transfer the profile from one OFW to another OFW. Wondering if anyone figured out a way to "easily" transfer a single profile OFW <-> CFW via the easy style like the "transfer tool" provides -- dropping the linked account, online, and other anti-CFW standards.
Hi
So on my cfw switch the island transfer tool does not even start. It says " software was closed, an error occured" or something. The text was german due to my regional settings, I have to look it up again.
as my switch was never online and has no linked account I think this is the issue? And AC does not have a legit ticket on this switch, so it wont work anyway?
The island transfer tool starts just fine on the ofw ac switch, obviosly.

Would just linking the account (is there a way to trick this?) fix the starting issue? Maybe i will install it again, but not using goldleaf this time. hmm.

I've installed this tool on MANY switches, both CFW and OFW, and never encountered that issue. What is the firmware you are running on the switch? I believe this tool actually uses firmware 10 functionality, so you might be skipping the firmware check by using goldleaf without realizing you need a newer firmware. I'm running 10.2 on my CFWs and 11+ on my OFW. Moving islands and players between them have not been an issue except that sometimes randomly one of the OFW switches has this random connection error that I reported originally in this thread. The only solution is to completely power off the switch and try again.

You don't need to have ever gone online or have linked the nintendo account.

On the similar topic of this, incase anyone was ever wondering....

I used the new functionality released at the time this tool was released, to duplicate a user. You can duplicate a user and all his inventory by "move off the island" feature in the "- settings" menu at the title screen of the game. I transferred the user from the island to another island on another switch. Then I restored the island from a backup taken before moving the player off the island. I then moved the moved player off the 2nd switch, back to the switch he moved from (using another profile on the switch).

It is a bit of an interesting scenario. You'll have two users name the same (which you can already have simply by naming the users the same). They both "look" to be different users, as in they have their own houses on the island. There is some weird overlap though. If you order something from the nook shopping store, the mailed item will appear in the other users, and will have the sender the name of the player. Instead of the nook shopping package, you will see the item in a blank message sent from the duplicate user of the same name.

Another weird oddity, if you buy artwork from Redd with one of the two twins, the other will not be able to buy, with Redd reminding him it is one per user. But other things that are limited per day, per player, are not affected (such as nook shopping). You can also submit orders with Flick and CJ from each user.

The cfw switch is on 10.0.4, and i thought i saw an error in goldlead earlier if the needed fw was too low.
Then i will have a closer look at this again.
The island transfer tool was built for switch firmware 10.2.0, you are right. Then this will be the issue. Looks like I have to update. ACNH ran until update 1.7.0 and there seems to exist a patched for 10.0.x version of 1.8.0a Update.
Good to know, I thought I have to use devmenu to set one of my accounts to "linked" but possibly delete all my saves or something.

Thanks for the feedback!

Hello guys,

I am trying to do this, but when the OFW console is trying to find the CFW one, they never reach each other?

Any idea of why this could happen? Could it be the 90dns? Or the serial number hider?

I don't want to remove those until I'm sure that I can do it without any risk to transfer my island

Make sure to disable the LAN mod hack on the CFW. Are you able to visit the island of the CFW from the OFW? If they can communicate via that without error, then you should be gold for the transfer tool.

You don't need internet at all, as the communication is local, so you could disable the wireless profile with the router, temporarily, and you won't have to worry. On one of my CFW switches, it has never been on the internet at all, and is able to work with this tool and via the visit local island.

Like I mentioned before, the first time I tried this, I had some weird error where the OFW would see the CFW island but would fail while starting the transfer with a communication error. But it turned out to be an issue with the OFW as the same communication error would occur when trying to visit an island from the OFW. A hard power off and power on fixed it. And again, in my case it was an unmoded OFW system causing me grief, go figure. I didn't give up on it as I tried with an unmoded OFW lite and had no issues. Likewise a few guys here confirmed success as well, so I didn't give up hope :)

Let us know how it goes.

I had the same problem for like, a week and this was so f*cking unnerving. Nintendo I love you but error codes exists for a reason.
So, I'm not entirely sure what unlocked the situation but here's the summary:

My switch(OFW) transferd island data via the eshop tool to friend's(CFW) switch.
I messed with the save file with NHSE (WITHOUT launching the game on the CFW first).
I launched it on Ryujinx emulator though.
I tried to send it back to my switch with OFW (many times).
They recognize each other and begin the transfer. Then, boom, communication error.

I tried reboot, hard power off, cutting the wifi/shutting out router, creating a new islander, deleting it, changing things with BCAT (as you mentionned you did it @dmdsoftware ), trying to send it to another OWF switch (did'nt work, so it seems my switch wasn't the problem, so maybe it's different from op problem) and I was about to try transfering to a switch lite.
And finally, deleting a file/folder named "MovingMark".

Yes, "file/folder" because it had been a file (with no extension) some times and a folder other times (???)

Here's my hypothesis:
This file/folder has to be non-existent when you transfer your island back. It should be deleted by the game when you lauch it, but Somehow I still had it the the tool didn't want to transfer?

I won't test this further as this took me too much time already, but if you have a similar problem, (do backups) and try deleting it on your dump.

I hope this will help, have a nice day!

I tried transferring over Eevee's island from HBG shop saves and the emporium and all that, when you go online on ACNH you get this error code . " 2219-4301 " this error code is not documented at all on nintendo side. Im thinking this island is actually a blocked island. Im trying now if i can even still connect on a normal island lol
on the french nintendo assistance it sayys that "be sure to use the new console/the target one

Sorry for the necro-post but... is there a way to transfer the Island save from CFW to OFW partition on the same switch?
I only have 1 Switch and was planning on transferring my YUZU save to an official copy.

Something like Yuzu -> CFW -> OFW?

I run cfw usually, and when i enter OFW, the game stays the same, bc i didnt split the SD.

Or you could back up your island on the nintendo servers, and ask nintendo to let you restore your island saying u lost your switch

This means there prolly a higher chance Big N can detect something's off (that there's cfw fudgery happening) right?
I made sure that my setup has the CFW and OFW completely separate (and only enter OFW through that 'genuine boot' thing after doing a cleanup every time). I guess this setup, now that I think about it, has no way of moving stuff from either partition if I wanna keep them separate.

...
I guess I really might need a second switch. Problem is, I dunno anyone in this vicinity that has one.
Wait, is there a way to run the transfer tool on an emulator on PC and transfer from PC -> OFW?
