When is Among Us 2 being released?

Among Us became the gaming phenomenon of 2020 after surpassing 200 million downloads and achieving the Best Multiplayer and Best Mobile Game in The Game Awards 2020. After this success InnerSloth suggested that they were in the process of developing a new game, but it now looks like players will have to settle for new updates instead. It is likely a very simple equation.

They don't want to split their playerbase before they got what they can from it, they also don't want to wait too long to where the fad has passed (see also 99% of super popular fad games before now).

Sometimes they can put that off a bit with a film or cartoon series (comics are dead so just a bit of extra spending money), and maybe a spinoff game.

I am glad they didn’t go the AAA route and make a sequel.
