Epic Games announces Fortnite Crew, a monthly subscription service for Fortnite

A new feature is coming to Fortnite, in the form of a paid monthly subscription. When Fortnite launches Chapter 2 Season 5, it'll also debut Fortnite Crew, an $11.99/mo subscription, which gives players access to the game's Battle Pass, 1,000 V-Bucks, and a special cosmetic outfit. Currently, access to the Fortnite Battle Pass on its own costs 950 V-Bucks, and lasts for multiple months which is overall a much cheaper price, however the items included within the Fortnite Crew monthly bundles are exclusive, and will not be obtainable through any methods other than subscribing. Fornite's next season, and the Fortnite Crew subcription will go live on December 2nd.

Hahahahah, of course epic games, money is like crack for these f*cks. The bait store is not giving enough it seems.
Hate to break it to you, but there are no non-profit gaming companies. And even non-profit organizations are ulitmately about profit.

I don´t understand why people hate Epic games. They gave me a few free games and are competition for Steam. Is it just that you are pissed you have to install two systems? You actually don´t have to.

I thought the Battle Pass (that's the name?) was already a monthly subscription.

Kinda, as far as I remember there's a new one every major update. They cost V-buck, this is obtainable by grinding super fucking hard OR paying for it (1cent=1V-bucks). So if you decide to pay for V-bucks it is. But if you grind it (what will take you 3 updates bc.the free battle pass gives you max 400 or something per update) than it's free.

TL;DR:
if you grind it's free otherwise, yeah it's just a subscription.

Beating a dead horse. There's plenty of reasons to dislike Sweeney and his goons. Free games don't mean shit.

"Some alms for the poor", you like being the product for epic huh? Free services means you're the product. And its not a steam x epic issue, it's that epic is a shitty company that does shitty practices (i don't even need to mention them, but starts with exclusivity on the universal platform called pc, and ends with ccp spying, there's a lot in the middle, some of them are listed in the image bellow), and i love poking them while triggering fanboys like you lmao.

Since you like comparisons: here.

Also, your arguments are being very fit for fortnite players, keep up!: "[...]there are no non-profit gaming companies.", oh really? "i don't understand why people hate epic games, tHeY gIvE FrEe GaMeS" like that was the best you took from your 2 neurons? c'mon man you can do better... And be careful or xinnie pooh will take some social points outta you.

Couldn't agree more, nail in the coffin, no need to extend this further.

What does that even mean? How can I be the product? Free means they are willing to take a financial hit short-term in the hopes of making money down the line.

Exclusive deals are as old as the industry and how does it hurt you if the CPC spies on you (even if it is true, I hear about it for the first time). The American government spies on most of the world all the time. So far - unlike the American government - the CPC has not taken out perceived threats with drone attacks around the world.
And I am not a fanboy. I do not care about what happens to Epic games. That is the very opposite of a fanboy.

It does not affect foreigners (nor is it relevant on anonymous boards).
Besides, in Western countries there are also similar systems. People the government does not like can be deprived of a bank account, internet connection, employment or they can be imprisoned or their door kicked in by police (and their home searched). I can think of examples for all of these (though America is still better than Europe: there, social exclusion happens mostly through private entities, not the state).

Now can somebody explain to me why I should not enjoy the free games Epic gives me? I still don´t get it.

"too much money" is never enough for a AAA publisher...especially one with shareholders that demand for revenue to constantly go up

So called "AAA games not making enough money" like this are the reason I don't support stupid company decisions.
