Console gaming is a myth and needs to die, hopefully sooner than later.

All electronic gaming is computer gaming, Nintendo & Sony computers just have bad compatibility.

That said Microsoft should be disbanded, key figures imprisoned or given capital punishment. Sony & Nintendo should transition their software to PC and continue to make portables, gadgets, toys & peripherals.
Consoles by the PS4/Xbox One era began being more of rivals to PC gaming than Console gaming in itself.

Much as I try, I don't see the excitement behind getting a PS5 or Xbox Series S/X (damn stupid long name!). It's just like mid-tier gaming PCs at this point or something.

The only one that remains true to itself is Nintendo. What they offer is a console x handheld experience.

Speaking of Nintendo, I'm still waiting for Mario Kart 9!!! :(

8th gen consoles are just mid-tier PCs like you say. Switch is just like mid-tier Android tablet, you can mirror the display to your TV haha

I can definitely see there being revisions of some kind, they’re inevitable.

That said, the Xbox may not receive a ‘slim’ revision since that’s kind of the point of the Series S, but a mid gen upgrade I can see happening for the S/X.

The PS5 could receive a slim revision though since there may still be ways to reduce costs e.g. change the thermal design, motherboard revisions, etc. I can see them also producing a ‘Pro’ version to match any Series X revision.

unless you want a handheld or exclusives, the switch is pretty much the worst of all if you are speaking of a home console experience, underpowered, the worst online, and hardly any sales (i dont ask for steam sales levels of discounts, but even compared to xbox and ps its laughable), the exclusives are just a legal limitation, there is no technical limitation that would render something like mario oddysey incapable of running on other systems, pc even has enough overhead to run it through emulation, that's how you know something is wrong, its sad seeing the state of handhelds though, nintendo is pretty much your only choice, the only thing that comes even close are GPD computers, which dont get me wrong, are great in their own right, but they're like 400-800 dollars, the switch is like 400 (i always include 5 years of online to the price of whatever console im comparing to a computer so the prices are fair)

mirroring would imply you are using both the tablet's screen as well as your tv's to display the same image, which you could do sort of on the wii u, this is more like a tablet with hdmi out, which are a thing. the switch just has great support, the snapdragon 855 on paper stomps the tegra x1, however, a device running a snapdragon 855 is most likely running android, and android lacks high quality titles, ironically some of the best titles on android are exclusive to nvidia devices (half life 2, re5, doom 3, etc), so the SD855 cant even run them unless you get them through apk
