Here's my reasoning: slim revisions come as a result of die shrinks due to better processes (example, early xbox 360 consoles were 90 nm, later ones 45nm) a die shrink allows for the same performance at lower power consumption, thus, less cooling is necessary and the device may be smaller, however, iirc both ps5 and xsx are 7 nm, that has been the absolute limit for a while (intel is even still stuck at 14 nm, with small exceptions) thus, i dont think we'll see slim revisions, or if we do, it will take a lot longer than normal, and the gains will not be as big (i dont really see them going to something like 3 nm, it would be too hard), the same sort of applies to the more powerful revisions, where the die shrink is used for better performance at the same power consumtion (as opposed to the same performance at lower power consumption), however, improvements would be possible if they increased die size with the same process, as a result, it would be more performance but with more power consumption
