1. When you send a game from one DS to another which doesn't have that game, its called Download Play. To ensure that the game is valid, a check is run upon receiving the game.
Whenever you send from a flashcard, it doesn't contain that code so it will fail. Download Play support fixes that.

2. Homebrew is unofficial NDS games and applications made by independent developers. The apps do a range of things from playing media to organizing.

3. Yes, but only with a Ram expansion or with your computer (DSHobro).

4.EZ4 is a slot 2 (GBA slot) flashcard and can play GBA games and NDS games. With a patched version of the Opera internet browser you can also use it as a Ram expansion

Download play is basically single-cart multiplayer. If one person with a DS has a game that supports download play, and another person doesn't have that game, they can download part of it so that they can play multiplayer with only one cart. And yes, it's wireless.

Not all games support download play, and if a game supports both download play and multi-cart multiplayer the download play mode is usually more limited.

You can browse the web using several options:
1. Official Opera browser. This requires either actual hardware or a combination of a slot-1 device and slot-2 device, as it requires slot-2 RAM to function.
2. DSHobro - this requires a PC-side server to be run that loads the pages and sends snapshots of it to your DS
3. DSOrganize - does not require anything extra, works best in text-only mode but can also render images smaller than the DS screen.
4. Okiwi - text-only browser, hard to get working
5. Bunjalloo - has preliminary image support, mostly text-only
6. Retawq in DSLinux - text-only but very quick and offers some good features like being able to download files to your DS and windowing support similar to tabbed browsing, does not require slot-2 RAM.
7. Links in DSLinux - comes in both text-only and graphical versions, requires slot-2 RAM to prevent crashing

And I think that's it.

Not all games support download play, and if a game supports both download play and multi-cart multiplayer the download play mode is usually more limited.

In addition, the host person has the cart and selects the download play option and whomever wishes to download play will see a room with the game info and host name. This can be seen when you hit the download play option when in the DS menu. And since you have an R4, you will have to eject your R4 and then boot up the main menu. And the R4 had the download play support fixed, so now you can be the host without it screwing up like it did before. Of course, this was fixed back in v1.10 or something, now it's at like 1.14 or something. Have fun!

Thanks DanTheManMS & Dark_aura for the info it makes this much clear...;-)

I have got the homebrew working by using R4 commander v2.0 where you just drag and drop the homebrew into the window.
Is this one of the better software to use or are there better ones?

R4 commander is just a ROM organizing program for your PC. You don't need it, but it's a handy program to have if you like to be organized. You can otherwise just drag and drop homebrew directly from one of your drives, like I do; I'm kinda lazy.
