"Unable to read NAND. Would you like to install a custom ams_mitm.kip to proceed?"
This is what I get when I tried to install Tinfoil 8.10. When I press ok, I have to reboot, but surprisingly (or not) I still get the same message.
I'm Atmosphere 10.2 and use hekate_ctcaer_5.1.1.

Can anyone tell me what the issue is?

The issue is blawar being blawar.
Add
Code:
kip1=atmosphere/kips/ams_mitm.kip
to your hekate_ipl.ini CFW section which you are booting into.

Hi, I'm having the same issue here.

Tried to launch my CFW using fusee-primary, but I only getting a black screen, and nothing happens.

Booting with the hekate works fine.

So how does the hetake_ipl.ini have too look after adding that line?

Hope this helps. Worked perfectly for me.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but I tried this and I get 'Wrong ini cfg or missing files. Failed to launch KOS! Press an key...."

I edited my cfg so it looked like:

{--- Custom Firmware ---}
[CFW (SYSNAND)]
emummc_force_disable=1
fss0=atmosphere/fusee-secondary.bin
kip1patch=nosigchk
atmosphere=1
logopath=bootloader/bootlogo.bmp
icon=bootloader/res/icon_payload.bmp
kip1=atmosphere/kips/ams_mitm.kip
{}

As soon as I remove the last line it boots again. I'm running
(v0.10.4/v15.3) on 9.2 from sdsetup

<edit> For anyone else who hits this there is the obvious step of actually opening Tinfoil once first to download the referenced file before adding this line :)

Any reason when I attempt to install latest Tinfoil on a freshly updated CFW (Atmosphere 10.2 and hekate_ctcaer_5.1.2) it just boots to home screen menu and displays an empty game card slot that endlessly loads?

I keep hearing nothing but frustration regarding blawar. From the crude political messages in his programs to constantly change things just to jerk around users. Kinda wish the scene would make alternatives and abandon him.

You are not forced to use tinfoil to install nsp,nsz or xci files. There are several alternatives if you dont like blawar.

In my opinion he makes good software for free, we dont need to pay him any money, we receive his stuff for free.

But if you want to use the pirate shops, you're stuck with Tinfoil. Wish someone would make a better alternative that had support for them.

Sure, he makes good software, but it seems like there's always some annoying bullshit you have to deal with. And it's not just blawar, the entire homebrew scene is doing it. Anti-blawar, anti-SX OS, anti-Kosmos, anti-Hekate, homebrew devs can't just let people use what they want to, instead they have to add roadblocks that are only hurting the end user. blawar undid all of his poor dev decisions, but the others have yet to follow suit. I'd also like an explanation of why this is needed, if it's a case of eliminating potential issues by ensuring everyone has a compatible setup to make his own life easier, or what. I can't really blame him if so, but I'm wary of installing things to my Switch that I have no idea what are for, so it would be nice to have an explanation of what it changes and why it's needed.

Thats why I triple boot kosmos, atmosphere fork and sx os. It only takes some Mb on the microsd card and it s fun to keep everything working.
