So i had this wii for a long time and recently i wanted to update from 4.1E to 4.3E but idk how. I think there is also some software that doesn't allow to update my wii to the most recent version. some help would be appreciated. tia

Hello.
If your Wii is not softmodded/untouched you have to use the Wii´s System Menu Update (in the Wii Settings).
Please note you need Internet Activity on your Wi for this.
or you can use an original Wii Game which was released after June 21, 2010.It has the Update on the Disc.

You can also do the banner bomb exploit that requires no game and is very easy to do.
If it doesn't allow disc and/or online updates its most likely a Priiloader hack preventing updates. I would rather not update a softmodded Wii the official way and – like @alexander1970 already suggested – use ModMii to update the System Menu as well as all (c)IOS.
To access Priiloader (and disable update blocking hacks) hold in the (Reset) button while turning on the Wii.
Note that official updates on a softmodded Wii can lead to unexpected results including bricks. The update will install a new System Menu and overwrite Priiloader effectively killing the brick protection. If the Wii was original Korean and had the region changed, a normal update beyond 4.1 will lead to the infamous 003 Error.
Again: If this Wii is softmodded in any way, I recommend updating with ModMii, not the official way. And don't forget to reinstall Priiloader as soon as possible after updating the System Menu – without a reboot.
