Game doesn't freeze with:

- Latest USB Loader GX (r1272)
- d2x-v8-final installed with base 57 in slot 249

Hello.:)

Thank you for the Tip.As Cyan stated earlier, most Versions did not work.
Unfortunately Version v3.0 r1272 not for me.Also Configurable USBLoader v70 r78.11 too.

But @fledge68´s WiiFlow v5.2.0 saves the day. :yaywii:

Now this Loader Version works for Driver San Francisco for me.

There is a simple solution. In usb loader enter in "loader settings", change the default ios (249) to 223 and no more problems. Worked for me.

Hello,

It may be that your usb stick is not working, it is recommended to use an external hard drive in FAT 32, for a better connection.

NEEK INSTALLATION GUIDE

I'll give step by step to make a copy of your existing setup (it's easier/faster to explain and to setup).
We will make a copy of your Wii memory to USB or SD. (if your USB is FAT32 on the first partition, choose USB. If not choose SD).
This guide will presume that you chose USB.

There are two version of neek :
neek = need an extracted game to work. SD or USB are working.
neek2o = works with .wbfs files <-- I'll guide you to install this one. USB is higly recommended.

It works on Wii only. If you are on vWii, don't follow this guide.

Requirement:
You need the homebrew channel 1.0.7+
You need bootmii installed as IOS (you should have installed it at the same time than the HBC).
SD card
USB drive
USB partition must be the first partition of the drive, it must be FAT32, it must be 32k/cluster, it must be MBR partition table and primary partition. (I don't know if 4k drives are working, I think they don't)
Wii games on USB:/wbfs/ folder on the first partition of the drive.

GUIDE:

1. Dump your Wii system memory to your SD card.
SKIP THIS STEP! DO NOT FOLLOW OLD GUIDES OR USE OLD HOMEBREW AND WONDER WHY ID DOES'NT WORK!
FOLLOW OTHER METHOD TO DUMP YOUR NAND.
- run Simple FSDumper, follow onscreen instruction to launch the dump.
- it will copy the folders located on your Wii to your SD card root, so we will need to move them.

2. Move the correct folder
- create a USB:/nands/nand1/ folder
- move to nand1 folder all these folders located on the root of your SD card:
imports, meta, shared1, shared2, sys, ticket, title, tmp

3. Create neek files with modmii
- Download and launch modmii
- http://code.google.com/p/modmii/downloads/detail?name=ModMii6.3.1.zip
if you get an error when launching modmii.exe, look in the /support/ sub-folder and launch modmii.bat
- type "I Agree" and enter
- type "O" and enter, then search the "n2o" line. It should display <enabled> at the end of the line. If not, type "n2o" enter, then "M" and enter
- type "S" and enter to go to sneek creation menu.
- type "1" to install neek, then "1" again to choose most newer version (r96)
- Here it's recommended to choose "UD" to create neek for "uneek+di" (NAND dump on USB + Wii disc emulation). then press enter
- When it ask where to save, don't enter anything, just press enter and it will be saved to new "COPY_TO_SD" and "COPY_TO_USB" folders.
- verify your selection;

- Press "Y" and enter to download all the needed files.

you can now exit modmii.

4. install files to SD:
- copy the sneek folder located inside "COPY_TO_SD" folder to the root of your SD card.
- download nswitch v2.2 and extract the file to SD:/apps/nswitch/boot.dol

SD:/sneek/kernel.bin
SD:/apps/nswitch/boot.dol

5. install files to USB:
- copy the sneek folder located inside "COPY_TO_USB" folder to the root of your first partition on USB.
It must be the first partition, it must be FAT32, it must be 32k/cluster, it must be MBR partition table and primary partition. (I don't know if 4k drives are working, I think they don't)
- rename "SNEEK" folder name to "sneek" (I don't know why it's in uppercase).

USB:/sneek/kernel.bin
USB:/sneek/di.bin
USB:/sneek/font.bin

4 & 5 alt.
If you want, you can put everything on USB only and don't use SD card at all.
USB:/apps/nswitch/boot.dol
USB:/sneek/kernel.bin
USB:/sneek/di.bin
USB:/sneek/font.bin

6. Install complete :)

- plug USB and SD to Wii.
- Launch nswitch homebrew and wait until the console reboots.

7. inside neek
- neek is an emulated system menu. It use the NAND dump located on your USB as if it was the real Wii memory. So you shouldn't see anything different than what you usually see, as it's a perfect copy of your actual NAND system memory.
But everything is done on USB. no access, read or write are done on your Wii internal memory until you shutdown the console.

- So you should now see your usual system menu with your installed channels.
- wait ~15seconds to be sure neek2o is fully loaded before doing anything.
- press and keep pressed the "1" button on your Wiimote until you see a list of games.
- select the game you want to load (driver SF) and press A
- neek will "mount" the game to your emulated disc drive and the game will appear on the Disc Channel.
- launch the game from the Disc channel

- Attention:
* Savegame will be stored on the "fake", emulated NAND located on USB.
if you exit neek, your savegame will not be present on your real Wii memory. always launch neek to see your save and continue playing that game.

* When you are inside neek mode, SD and USB access are restricted.
If you are using "Uneek": USB became the Wii memory so you can't access USB, but SD should be available.
But it's possible no external devices are available. if it's the case:
You can't use homebrew to access external devices
You can't use forwarders (which reloads files located on external devices)

8. exit neek
- shutdown the console.
- on next launch, you are back on "real NAND". everything will done, read, write back to the internal Wii memory.
@Cyan Why is this not a sticky thread? If I already got Bootmii and Priiloader setup is this just overkill? If not after doing it how does it affect bootmii and Priiloader? Would I have to move where my games are currently to the emuNAND folder? And a bit off topic after I install a game wad and move it to my sd card, I can delete the wad right? And if I want to delete the game I can just do so in settings or need the wad again?

it's not sticky because it's old and deprecated and not a proper guide, and because it's not the first post of this thread. it's just an answer to someone else question.
you better start reading the other one you "liked" before posting here : https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-do-...properly-utilize-emunand.437521/#post-6592730
Which is also a little outdated but should cover more information and setup steps.

Bootmii and priiloader have nothing to do with neek, unless you use them to autoboot neek (which I don't recommend if you have so hard time setting up and understanding how your consoles works until now).
plus, do you really have a need of neek of you want it because it's the trend to get every possible hacks and softwares?
neek and emuNAND are not a miracle solution to get everything to work. it's slow, it's not perfect, it's apparently hard to understand the dual boot environment for some users, you better use your SysEmuNAND than neekEmuNAND wherever possible.

the wad is not needed after the install to emuNAND, which is just decompression and file copy to proper folders structures.
you can delete the wad from SD/USB, but keep it on PC or elsewhere as it can be useful later again. some WAD manager need that wad file to uninstall channels.

There are a lot of my contributions which are only replies lost in threads instead of stickied guides.
I try to list them here now (bottom of the page):
https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Cyan
there are lot of missing ones, but I add them when I remember or find old posts of mine which I find useful.

EDIT: Ok,the Game progress was saved,so I can continue with the Game after I rebootet the Wii.

Hello
I followed step by step the"NEEK INSTALLATION GUIDE" ans it's working great, no freeze, no need reset after loading, and even with TINTIN game, also works too.
Just a question : How about cheatcode please?
Thanks in advance and specialy Cyan

This game is weird , been trying different versions of USB loader and Wiiflow

Wouldn't work with vanilla settings in Usb Loader GX V1271 or V1272 . Even selecting CIOS 249 V57 . The only way to boot into a saved game ( without crashing / black screen ) , was to enable the Multi Dol Hook Protection Geko Code . However there is a show-stopping bug which stops progress on a mission called 'Replacement Driver' where suddenly the nunchuck control stops working ( the wiimote continues to work ok ) . Making the game unplayable past this mission

Wiiflow version 5.2.0 would boot a new game but , would freeze , black screen when loading a saved game , or progressing to another level . Later versions of Wiiflow dont give any different results .

Also the Geko 'gct' files sd:\wiiflow\codes\gct are never detected in any version of Wiiflow that I have tried . Despite ensuring to use the game ID ' SDVP41.gct' as the file name .

Im lost with this one, instead im going to dig out the original disc

Like I said, only some specific version of each loaders are working.
We don't know why.
Maybe it's due to different version of libogc, or devkit_ppc.

neek/neek2o (any versions)
Usbgx 2.2
WiiFlow r374
CFG Loader Version unknown

please, don't say "latest", this is not helpful as there are different version and modded version of CFG loader which are considered latest. And you are maybe not up to date yourself.
Please give the exact revision number.
I'm using USB loader GX 2.3 and it doesn't load
